"The biggest hardship I have faced in my life is lack of sufficient money to cater for the household's basic needs like school fees, medical care, feeding etc. This is because there are no good outputs from agriculture."

"When I receive this money, my husband and I have resolved to pay back a loan outstanding so that we regain our piece of land that we staked as collateral. This will help us widen our agricultural practices so that we get better yields from what we shall plant. I will also buy some bulls for oxen purposes because we have been hiring from other providers. So this will see us also save money from what we would have used for hiring and channel it into catering for other basic needs like education and medical care."

Alfred
received a $23 sixteenth payment.
"I expect my life to change in the next six months in that I will have completed building my new house. My children will have a good place to sleep unlike now where they sleep at my neighbors' house. With this, I would have reduced the risk of them being attacked or violated physically while walking in the darkest bushes at night and it worries me when I think of their safety."

Stephen
received a $23 sixteenth payment.
"Since I got enough harvest in the last season, I am planning to save the proceeds I got from the sale of maize so that I cultivate a bigger acreage of land next planting season. I saw how important and profitable farming was, especially maize farming, and I think it will be wiser if I invested in this project more and more"

Brian
received a $23 fifteenth payment.
"I want to build my own house within the next six months Currently I live in my brothers' house which is quite small as compared to the number of people that are housed in the structure. It will be a good idea for me to get a house of my own because I lack privacy in my brothers' house and I think my brother together with the wife also lack some privacy in the house."

Rose
received a $442 second payment.
"My life has changed a lot because with this transfer, I managed to plaster my house which makes it is beautiful and safe. Lizards no longer disturb me because the wall is smooth making their movement on it difficult. On top of this, I paid my children's school fees in advance and I am happy. Prior to receiving the transfer, the wall to my house was exposed to the rains which was weakening the it. Additionally, the issue of school fees used to bother me and I was not at peace."

"Life is different in that these transfers have enabled receive education that will be vital in searching for employment to earn living. My dressing has also improved with more clothes now available. In addition, I had a few clothes that weren't presentable to be in public."
