Saumu
received a $532 initial payment.
"The biggest difference in my daily life is that I now own goats. I am hoping that very soon they will multiply since currently, some have started reproducing. My wish is to start up a business of buying and selling the offsprings when they mature. From that, I believe I will be able to acquire some good profit. It is from this profit that I am planning to start a kiosk which will bring my additional income. Through that, I will get an income that will help me in paying school fees for my children and also cater to some other basic needs for my family."

Kenga
received a $532 initial payment.
"Owning the house is the biggest difference in my daily life. I have been longing to build a big house but due to my financial status, I could not afford it. My previous house was a small hut which was grass-thatched and in a very poor condition. Whenever it rained it was hectic because of the leaking roof. My children also had difficulty finding a nice place to sleep. They were forced to sleep at my neighbor's house of which they felt uncomfortable. After completion of my house, the problem was solved. Secondly, whenever they wanted to study, they found it hard because the house was not spacious and due to this reason it was affecting their academic performance. Nowadays, they are studying comfortably without any interference."

"My biggest hardship is lack of food in my household. I had mortgaged two acres of land to my neighbour in order to get money for paying medical bills of my child. I did not cultivate the whole of last year and only paid the debt this year, I started growing crops this year and currently, the food I eat, I buy on daily basis."

"The biggest hardship in my family is inadequate land for crop cultivation. I own two acres of land which is not sufficient to support food production for the household and sale of some to support paying school fees for the children."

"My hope is that in the next six months, I will have constructed my own house. I know the rest of the transfers will take me a long way in buying most of the construction materials, but I plan to engage in casual jobs within the village once I am done with school later this year to buy the rest of the required materials for the construction."

"The biggest hardship that I am faced with is lack of oxen. I cultivate late because I don't have my own.
Some times I have managed to have atleast a piece of land but how to prepare it for use becomes a charllage.
I usually wait until the owners have finished work in their gardens.
This has always affected crop productivity and food shortage in the end."
