Catharine
received a $450 second payment.
"Currently, my life has changed because I was able to acquire my personal land that I will now fully cultivate on and get relieved from the issue of hiring farm land. This has given me happiness since prior to receiving this money, I was always hard up on money to hire farm land. At times the season would pass without me farming and I ended up doing casual labor in other people's farms to raise money or in exachange for food to feed my family. "

Isaac
received a $450 second payment.
"My life is diferent now in that my standard of living has improved. Although it was partially my first transfer, I was able to get back my land that had been mortgaged years back. This land has helped me to extensively carry out independent farming. Before recieving this money, I had to share farming with my parents and it did not give me freedom to use my produce as I wished.
In addition to this, I am delighted that I will soon be in position to appreciate my parents in law by giving them bride price (as it is in my culture) for my wife. This is using the cows that I purchased. This would take the longest time ever had I not received my money."

Elijah
received a $515 second payment.
"My life would have been very different in that, I would have been forced to hustle to ensure ends meet in my household. With the casual job that I used to do it was not enough to sustain my needs meaning I would not have gotten enough to save for house construction but thanks to GD, I was able to get transfers and they have transformed my life."

George
received a $22 fifteenth payment.
"I expect my life to change in the next six months in that I will have built a new house. I want to use part of my monthly transfers to continue buying building materials such as nails and timber so that I may build a new house. I would not want to continue living in a grass thatched house."

"My new goal is to start a business. I am a housewife and I depend on my husband for everything. I know that when I achieve this goal I will become independent. I usually feel like am a bother. At times, it is even embarrassing to ask for the cheapest household items. I am grateful to this organization for empowering me financially and making me know that my dream is valid I only need to look for money to actualize it."

Sammy
received a $485 third payment.
"I do not have a new goal at the moment. I want to make sure that I complete constructing the house that I had started building a few months ago with the second transfer. Owning a house will allow me to settle and allow me to start doing other development projects and income-generating activities"

Paul

"I have been operating on animal trading where I buy livestock at a lower price and later on sell them at a higher price and that is how I make my profits. So for the next few months from today, I will still be working on the same business and I expect that a lot will change because once I get enough money then I will be able to construct my new house."

Janeth
enrolled.
"The biggest hardship I've faced in my life is starvation. Living in an ASAL area like this come with its fair share of adversity. Seasons have changed so much so that we no longer know how to practice timely planting since weather changes extremely every two to three months. I've seen livestock succumb to starvation due to drought. When this happen, we lack food to eat and children are forced to drop out of school due to lack of income. "
