"Our culture forbidden sleeping in the same house with your grown up children. These has forced them to seek refuge from neighbors something that do not give me piece of mind. My desire has been to build one for them but due to financial challenges this has not been realized. I am depending on my husband job as a charcoal burner an activity that earns him less at most 1.5 dollars per day. His earnings is spend on feeding my family of 12. "

"The biggest hardship that I am faced with is lack of money to take care of the needs of my home.
My husband died and left me struggling alone as a widow. At the time of his death, my children were still young but I saw a future in them.
I am working so hard to make sure that they are in school, they feed and have the necessary basic needs like any other children.
However, this is so challanging . I do small scale farming and whatever little that I get is what I sell off to raise money so as to be able to provide for them.
At the same time, the piece of land that I have is limited but I have no option. I don't have any other source from which to get money. I just have to work with what is available."

"Receiving the money means I will be able to build a permanent house that I will stay in. That will improve on my living conditions and boost my self esteem. The grass thatched house that I love on now is leaking and I have to stand for the entire period as it rains. That has given a lotbof inconvenience. "

"My life was very difficult in the past in that I had no access to financial assistance to enable us construct a permanent house. More so, when the children became ill. I had to borrow from the village savings groups so as to acquire medical care. However,I am very grateful that the cash transfers have enabled us acquire better medical care for the family. We have also boosted our fish business which earns daily income."
