Penina
received a $529 second payment.
"I have always bought kerosene on a daily basis and it has been very costly on my daily expenditure. I knew the best way to reduce what I spend on a daily basis was to buy a solar system. Since I did not have any source of income, I was not able to buy a solar system. I had to put up with borrowing money to buy kerosene or take on credit for my children to comfortably do their homework. When I received the transfers, I used it to pay for a solar system which I bought on a higher purchases basis. I have fully paid for the panel and I don't feel the burden of buying kerosene on a daily basis."

Jane
received a $512 second payment.
"I used to have four cows two years ago. Unfortunately, I was forced to sell the cows to raise money to pay school fees arrears for my children. This is because I do not have an income which I can depend on to meet my demands and even pay school fees arrears for my children. My only option was to sell the cows. I was frustrated with life and I was overwhelmed. When I used the transfers to clear fees arrears for my children and had some amount to spare, I decided to buy two cows. I thank GD for restoring my pride in the village through the cows."

Hellen
received a $512 second payment.
"I have always struggled to pay school fees for my children. This is because I have always depended on a small income from casual work which is not even enough to meet all our daily needs. In as much as I used to get very little income, I would not have allowed my children to drop out of school at all cost. I still had to give it my best because I know when they are done with school, they will get well-paying jobs which will help them with their families. Even if they don't take care of me as I would expect, I would not want them to go through the struggles I have gone through."

Titus
received a $512 second payment.
"My life is different in that my wife was able to finish her college education. Since I only depended on a small income from casual work, I was not able to do much in life yet my wife too had registered for her college education. We had agreed I will support her in paying her fees when she registered. I have always struggled to raise money until her last examinations which she was going to miss without the transfers. I had borrowed a lot and I could not borrow anymore. I did not have any option of raising the money to pay on my own. I am glad I was able to clear her college fees balance and she was able to finish her college education in time. Without GD I would not have managed to clear the balance."

"I do not expect any change but I am still saving towards building my dream house. I do not have a house thus I stay in a rental house which paying monthly rent is not that easy due to the type of job I do not expect any new changes. Currently, I am a casual labourer the little capital I get I use on buying a few household items and the remaining amount I use on buying food at times."

"I expect that in the next six months, I will have completed the plastering of my main house so that I can focus on the kitchen. That kitchen also needs to be plastered as it also serves as a bedroom for my grandchildren and I would like if they also sleep in a better environment."
