I have always bought kerosene on a daily basis and it has been very costly on my daily expenditure. I knew the best way to reduce what I spend on a daily basis was to buy a solar system. Since I did not have any source of income, I was not able to buy a solar system. I had to put up with borrowing money to buy kerosene or take on credit for my children to comfortably do their homework. When I received the transfers, I used it to pay for a solar system which I bought on a higher purchases basis. I have fully paid for the panel and I don't feel the burden of buying kerosene on a daily basis.

As for me, I feel GD is doing everything in the best way and as a result, there is so much peace in the village. They should continue with the good work. I do not feel there is anything GD is not doing well.

I spent my transfer on buying a cow and a goat as investment for my family. I know when they reproduce, I wil have a number which I can sell to raise money and even give some as an inheritance for my children. Since the bedding I have been using has lasted two years, they are worn out and torn hence I decided to get new ones with part of my transfers. I am glad I nowadays sleep comfortably because of GD transfers. We agreed with my husband to support him in going for driving school lessons which we paid for with part of the transfers and also bought food for the family.

Before we received the transfer, we were using a kerosene lantern for lighting which produced a lot of smoke yet very little light. The kerosene used was also costly and not readily available as we had to walk a long distance to get it at a fair price. With the money that I received, I was able to buy a solar lighting system which came with five bulbs, enough to light all the rooms in the house and outside the house to enhance security. I am happy that I now save a lot of money that I initially spent on kerosene and I don't have to deal with a dimly-lit house at night as the solar lights are bright enough.

I was expecting the money because I knew it would come as promised, so when I saw the text messages, I was not surprised but rather pleased. It was about 4 am when I received the money and after reading the messages, I could barely get any sleep for the rest of the night as I was too excited.

I used part of the money I received to buy a cow worth 15000KES, bought a solar lighting system and gave the rest to my husband to pay for the driving course he's currently taking. My husband does not have a stable job at the moment because he did not get the opportunity to go to college due to lack of money. His decision to take the driving course was driven by the desire to get a job as a driver with public service vehicles to earn a living.
