"The biggest hardship that I am faced with is providing the education needs of my children. I do not have enough money to take care of all that is required so at the end of it all, my children are affected. They are sometimes sent out of school which makes them miss out in class. "

"The biggest hardship that we are faced with is inadequacy of money to provide the education needs of the children that we take care of. My husband is a civil servant in the teaching department but the amount of money that he gets as salary is not just enough to take care of the need. Some times we try to do cultivation but still it is not helping. My husband is the eldest son in the family who everyone looks up to."

"The biggest hardship that I am faced with is inadequacy of land that I would otherwise cultivate and get food to feed the family. I leased out a bigger portion of land that was available for me to cultivate in order to raise money for the treatment of my mother. The only piece of land that is available now is too small to support the cultivation need. This is the major reason I have always faced the problem of food shortage in my home."

"It's going to be great joy for me to be enrolled into this program. The transfers will help me achieve my desires as a family. When I receive this money, I will buy oxen for ploughing. My family used to have oxen but we sold them for treating our son who was very sick. The balance of the Money will be used for paying fees for my children. With better education, I believe that my children will be able to support themselves and take on good employment opportunities. "

"I have been struggling to save money in order to ensure that I build a decent house and enjoy a good shelter, for me and my children, but I couldn't manage. Being a mother of ten children, I could not effectively fulfil the very basic needs for my families like shelter, clothing and education to my family. The little money that my husband earns from casual works is not enough to effectively fulfil this. Through this money, I was able to buy enough building materials which include iron sheets, building poles to facilitate the construction of a spacious house that will ensure we have a good shelter as a family. Achieving this is the biggest difference in my daily life."

"The biggest harship that I face in my life is that I do not own oxen in order to facilitate early and timely ploughing and planting of crops for better yields. I have struggled for long helping neighbours plough in their farm land in exchange for them to plough in mine too. However, this some times comes late when the planting season has passed hence poor yields or no harvest at all leading to famine and low income."

"Receiving this money means that I will spend for buying oxen and ox-plough. Iam a fisher man and all the money I realise from it is spent on cultivation purposes instead of providing other neccessities for my family members like treatment. Once I own oxen and ox-plough, I will no longer spend money got from fishing to pay labour forexample ploughing. This means the money I realise from fishing will take care of treatment and providing other needs for my family members."

"I plan to spend Givedirectly money for building iron-roofed house in my village. Iam soon retiring from civil service but I have no home to settle. I have been wondering on how to build a house since my spouse abandoned me with the children. This house will give me better relief of retirement."
