Joseph
received a $490 third payment.
"Saving the whole of my third transfer means a lot to me because I have a good plan on how to use it over this Christmas season and next year January. I am planning to pay school fees for my five children so that they won't be sent home too often. January is always a tough month and I don't want to look disorganized by squandering the whole amount during this festive season. Additionally, I plan to spare some for transport to and from upcountry. The remaining amount will be spent to repair and fix windows in my house back home."

Viola
received a $521 second payment.
"My life has changed in that I have greatly reduce my daily expenditures since I can save the money I would otherwise use in buying milk to cater for my households needs like buying daily meals with ease. This is because the dairy cow I bought with the first transfer has already reproduce hence on a daily basis I am able to get 3 litters of milk from it . On the other hand , restocking my small retail shop business which is our my livelihood has also increased my daily income and I have been able to save the part of the profits which I intend to use it as school fees next year when the schools reopen to pay school fees for my children ."

John
received a $490 third payment.
"I have been running a juice business but I was not able to preserve it. At times the juice would ferment making it taste bad. I have gone at a loss on many occasions due to lack of a dispenser. When I got my third transfer, I deposited some portion of the amount to the dealer who is going to deliver the dispenser by next week. This business means a lot to me. I started it using the previous transfer and I am planning to expand it. Before then, I was a painter and the work was seasonal. Besides that, I did shopping at my house. I have saved the rest of the money in order to expand my business. I really appreciate the financial support because my living standards have improved already."

"Besides subsistence farming, burning charcoal is my other source of income. The much I earn is 350 shillings in 2 weeks. This amount is supposed to cater for all our needs including food, medical and school fees. However, it is not enough making it difficult to provide for my children. It is common for us to go without food and they are often sent home for fees. This situation makes me consider financial constraint as my biggest hardship."

"My single roomed house is too small to accommodate my family of 9. This has forced my husband to find shelter in our neighbour's house. This is due to our culture which forbids a man to share a room with his mother and daughters. Besides, it is in a very risky condition that is not fit for human life. Some of the walls have collapsed and others are following suit. The roof is partly made of grass and some loose iron sheets that held with poles. This situation has made owning a better house to be my biggest ambition. I will therefore use this transfer to achieve the same. "

"Receiving this money means I will be able to buy oxen that will support in food production. I will be able to cultivate on time which increases chances of high yields hence getting enough food to feed the family. Currently, I hire oxen to plough the piece of land that I am able to hire but this comes with a lot of delays and uncertainties."

"Receiving this money means I will be able to retrive the piece of land that was leased. This will give me the opportunity to cultivate a little more and get food that my family can feed on. The piece of land that is available for my household to use is too small to meet the need."

"Receiving this money means that I will be able to electrify my house. I currently have limited number of customers taking my soft drinks claiming they need cold ones ,hence the business is not booming as expected. This money I intend to spend on connecting power in my house. I will start selling cold drinks preffered by many customers thus boosting my sales. This will definitely improve my earnings for sustain my other needs."
