Julius
received a $518 second payment.
"Comparing my current life and how it would have been if I had not received the transfers has a really great difference. The livestock which I never had are now with us, and even the other agricultural sectors which were initially dormant are now active. We have increased the land under cultivation and also managed yo construct two new houses."

Stephen
received a $488 third payment.
"My new goal is to start distributing shoes in different towns in order to increase my income. I am yearning to improve my business to wholesale. I know before I reach there, I will need to work hard with more determination before reaching this level. But I am hopeful that one day I will be able to attain this goal and be among the few envied suppliers in the city."

Christine
received a $467 initial payment.
"The most visible change is that I have completed the purchase of a piece of land. I am very happy because I had spent over two years without any hope of acquiring that plot. The cash transfers have also helped in the payment of school fees. This was a big challenge to the family as we had no other source of income."

Kennedy
received a $39 twelfth payment.
"My biggest desire was to stabilize my barbershop business by having at least two shaving machines and classy chairs that would upgrade the status of the shop to attract more customers and increase my efficiency. I have so far achieved this and now just hoping that it improves to a level that it is able to take care of my bills before the project ends. I do not have any new goals at the moment other than getting my family nice Christmas gifts, especially my younger brother who did so well in his final examinations."

Veronica
received a $22 twentieth payment.
"I believe in the next six months, I would have completed constructing our house and we would have moved in. Having a new house would be a great difference for us as the house which we live in currently is too old and risky to live in as its almost collapsing."

Irine
received a $537 initial payment.
"Considering the changes which we have registered in our household since we received the money, most are so impressive and giving us hopes of working harder every day. Out of all that we have managed to do, the biggest difference in our daily life is the good breed of a cow that we bought. We are now sure that soon we will stop buying milk which has been costing us a lot of money."

Jurwa
received a $537 initial payment.
"The biggest difference ib my daily life is that a now have a complete pair of oxen and a dairy cow. Previously, I used to own one bull which was still stress because I had to hire the other one for them to plough. Sometimes I could not afford to hire the other one and thus was resulting in getting some low harvests since I could not complete ploughing an acre. I am now a happy farmer because the pair will not only help me in ploughing my farm but also to my neighbor's farms. This will be at a fee, hence generating an income. My farm products will now be good and this means my family and I shall no longer starve. Secondly, with the dairy cow, I will be getting milk for free and I am planning to sell the remaining liters to my neighbors and getting an additional income. I will no longer strain in meeting my family's basic needs and I will be paying school fees in good time."

Fanice
received a $22 twenty-first payment.
"In the next six months, I will have plastered my house. I plan to save my monthly transfers so that I may be able to buy building materials for plastering the house. My dream was to build a permanent house but due to lack of finances, I was not able to. Right now I get money from GD, I would want to plaster the house so that I may have a semi-permanent house. It is better than a mud-walled house. The house will be durable and presentable than what I have now."

Mariam
received a $537 initial payment.
"Having a dairy cow and the goats are the most valuable assets I can proudly mention. I believe that I will achieve most of my goals from the sale of milk from the dairy cow. Not only will I have a healthy family but also increase my income with this dairy project. With the goats, I plan to sell the offspring since they reproduce faster. The money will help me pay school fees for my children. One of my kids who had dropped out of school to a huge school fee balance will now be able to resume her studies. As time goes by, I will have accumulated enough money to start another business. This will ensure I am financially secure. From that point, I believe my life will now be the same again."
