"I majorly depend on subsistence farming which has not been doing well enough to cater for both household daily needs and any other goal in the family. Currently keeping heifers with an aim that once they reproduce, I will have milk for both household consumption and sales gives me a the biggest difference in my daily life. I will have offsprings which to me I can always depend on in case of any financial crisis more so to raise my children's education fee and any other household necessity arising. To me having this cow in my compound is the biggest difference in my daily life. It gives hope that I can always provide for my family."

"I primarily depend on subsistence farming to see my family through. I have children in various schools and my biggest ambition is to see them prosper in their education to allow them to have a better life in the future. Raising their school fees is challenging for me due to the limited resources in our family. Currently adding a cow to my herd with an aim that once they reproduce, I will have milk for both household consumption and sales gives me a the biggest difference in my daily life. I will have offsprings which to me I can always depend on in case of any financial crisis more so to raise my children's education fee and any other household necessity arising. To me having these two heifers in my compound is the biggest difference in my daily life. It gives hope that I can always provide for my family."

"My life is currently different because the transfer has enabled me to build a decent iron roofed house. Had it not been this money, then I wouldn't be having a decent iron roofed house considering the financial hardship that I was facing. In addition, I managed to build another house for my children. I also have livestock which includes a pair of oxen and some goats. Having the pair of oxen will help me in doing my farming timely."

"I was previously employed by a neighbour to use his motorbike to provide taxi services in our town. The income I was getting was too little to cater for my household basic necessities. Currently my life is different because I bought my own motorcycle which I am getting a good income unlike before when I was employed. I also started a small business of supplying and selling charcoal which is also an additional source of income. I would not have achieved all these if at all GiveDirectly did not come to us."

"I did not have a pair of oxen and during the planting season, I was hiring from my neighbours and paying for the services. I am currently using my own pair of oxen to plough my farm. "The transfer enabled me to build a new iron roofed house to live in with my family. Were it not the transfer, then I would still be living in my old grass thatched house with no hope of upgrading to a better house. I also have livestock , a cow and three goats. I know these livestock will reproduce and have many of them. To me they are living assets and my financial security. I can sell the offspring to cater for my future financial needs."
