"The biggest difference in my daily life is that I am now owning goats through the transfer. Being a farmer, I invested on rearing these goats because they are valuable assets and a saving for future financial needs. As they reproduce and increase in number, I can readily rely on them in case of a financial need."

"It is the desire of every parent to see their children prosper in the lives. I have two children who are doing electrical engineering, sometimes they forced to return home and spend like a month due to lack of school fees. I have never wished my children to suffer in their education life but due to our poor life condition it forces them to suffer a lot. Receiving this money means I will be able to clear their school fees debt whereby I will use 80,000 Kenya shillings to clear their arreas so that they can continue with their training. The remaining amount will be used for our daily needs such as food and clothing."

"My life has just been full of financial struggles as I depend on charcoal burning as the only source of income. The little money from this is enough to cater for my household needs only. This forced me to live in a grass thatched hut for years.I never thought of upgrading to an iron roofed house until GiveDirectly visited and promised to change my life. Through their financial help, I purchased enough building materials to build a decent house. I will soon be living in an iron roofed house, which makes it to be the biggest difference in my daily life."

"Being dependent on farming for commercial purposes is the biggest hardship we face. Due to continuous prolonged drought in this region, the 8-acre piece of land that we cultivate only yields 5 bags of maize seasonally. The output is only enough for my household consumption hence none is left for sale. I am thus forced to engage in tedious casual jobs on peoples' farms to support other family needs. The fact that such jobs are never readily accessible gives rise to depression each day."
