"This money will mean alot to me as a single mother i am failing to build a proper house for myself and children, this house we are leaving now leaks alot during rainy season so this money will mean alot, I will also buy my children blankets and clothes just imagine my children only have two clothes each and they don't have blankets i use my lappers to cover them at night. I will also add some food to what i have harvested to have enough for the whole year."

"The biggest hardship i have faced in my life over the past the years is actually lack of money to buy basic necessities of life such as food and shelter. I do not have a reliable source of income to sustain our survival as a family."

"I have always been a sad person over the past ten years. This is so as most of the women I have grown up together with are in better houses than mine. Although, they are there partly because of their husbands, I still admire them. This was made worse when I was diagnosed with HIV too as that meant needing good diet than normal. I have also been worried whether I will leave something for my children when I die quickly before my children come of age.
This money has given me renewed hope as now I am very much aware that I am going to have a better house in the next coming months. Although it will not be like what my friends have, it will still be better than this. The other money will go towards buying the much needed household items which are essential for every house such as good cups, pots, plates and others.
I also know with the money that I am going to start a small business to be generating some income for me to take care of myself to meet dietary requirements for an HIV person and my children too."

"I am a standard eight primary school dropout and all I have ever known was to depend on a husband when I get married. When my marriage ended, we became desperate like never before and most of the times we sleep with empty stomachs. I still do my best by farming in the hills nearby and also some business when I find some capital but these are never enough.
It's a bit better now that we are in the harvesting season. Hence, the biggest hardship most of the times is lack of enough food."

"I am grateful to have been considered in the program. As you can see, I am very old such that I am unable to support my self. With this money, I plan to renovate my house, buy kitchen utensils, matresses and beddings."
