"Receiving this money means a better housing for me and my family. My current house is small and doubles up as kitchen and bedroom. It also gets smoky and really hot especially when making meals which is uncomfortable for all of us. I would like to build an iron sheet house that will act as the Main house and will accommodate visitors when they visit. This will cost me about Ksh50,000. The remaining amount I'll purchase a dairy cow, furniture and beddings for the new house."

"I want to build a better and bigger kitchen in my homestead. The one we currently use is small and it rains inside making it difficult to cook there on rainy seasons. Receiving this money will mean a lot to me, because I will be able to build a bigger iron roofed kitchen amounting to $300 that will serve as an extra room for when we have guests. The remaining transfer will be used as follows: $300 for a dairy cow,$200 for food and clothing and $100 as savings."

"My life is different than what is was before because before I used to work so hard and still not manage to make enough for my family so that used to drain me a lot as a provider knowing that my hard work is not enough. Now with these transfers I can buy enough food and my hard earned money can be used for other things around the house."

"I was orphaned at a young age. And later on got married to a man who left to go abroad without even a goodbye. He has never sent any assistance to us in all these years. I can now build a house to live in with my children. My parents also left me children to take care of and so it has been difficult to care for all 6 children without any assistance. I do piece work but the money is never enough. With this transfer I am now able to build a house and buy food. I have also bought seed and fertilizer in readiness for the next planting season."
