"With these transfers, I managed to buy three sacks of maize. This was a guarantee that my family and I will have sufficient food in the next couple of months. I also bought two goats to add to the previous herd that I had bought with the first transfer. With the remaining part of transfer, I did a customary wedding which was a great success."

"GiveDirectly do well by giving enough money to us as part of the social cash transfers unlike other social cash transfers which give less money. For example GiveDirectly gave me k297300 as my second transfers which helped me to buy things like mattresses and to pay the builder who was building my house that I had some money left to use for other things at home. With the other social cash transfers, we could get as little as k20,000 which was just enough to buy food at home and not for one to manage to do a big thing like building a house. In my opinion, there is nothing done by GiveDirectly that is not done well."

"Giving recipients unconditional cash transfers was a brilliant idea. With so much corruption in our country, it is difficult for the people deserving of aid to get the help directly. So by doing this, GD has really helped us. We have managed to receive the money and have used it to change our lives in ways other projects by other NGOs have not managed to do."
