"With the cash transfers I'm receiving, My main goal is to save a portion of this money and embark on poultry farming as a means of generating income. Poultry have a high demand and can be easily sold, either in the market or within our village. By investing in this venture, I aim to secure a sustainable source of income for the future. Additionally, I'm determined to utilize the transfers to ensure I complete my high school education without financial constraints. I'm grateful for the GiveDirectly transfers."

"While I was waiting for my second transfer, I had already planned out how to use the money. I spent $85 on school shopping for my son who was starting junior secondary. I'm grateful to GiveDirectly for helping me out. Without their support, my son wouldn't have been able to go to school because I didn't have any money. I do casual labor, working on other people's farms, but the money I earn isn't enough to cover our expenses, like food and school fees for my six children, five of whom go to school. So, I decided to spend $45 on buying new clothes for my family because the ones we had were very old. We can go up to a year without getting new clothes because most of our money goes toward food.I also used $190 to rent two hectares of land. One hectare is for me to plant maize, and the other is for greengrams. If the maize does well, I could harvest 22 bags, and if the greengrams do well, I could get four bags. I can sell one bag of greengrams for $120, which is profitable and doesn't require a lot of expenses. Finally, I spent the remaining amount on buying two sheep. Sheep multiply faster than goats, giving birth three times a year compared to goats, which only give birth twice a year. By the end of this year, I expect to have 15 sheep."

"I want to save up enough to start investing in chickens. Currently, I have three chickens, and I believe with a good investment, I can go far. Investing in chickens is really a good idea because they can easily hatch and will make a lot of profit when selling them. The aim of this investment is to make money and save up for my colleagues' school fees. Becoming a contractor is my aspiration, as I believe it will greatly benefit me in the future."

"I am aiming for the starts thanks to Givedirectly. I am now fully attending school thanks to Givedirectly funds. As I earlier said it made a big difference to be enrolled in the program and being able to receive funds as I was bale to reduce the load on my parents back. I would want to be the first to ever go to college, I am yet to decide what in particular I would pursue but I am excited since this prospect is there as I am in my last year of high school. I hope to do much more in terms of school beyond high school."

"I am happy for Givedirectly as it has allowed me to dream. I have been building my finances to accomplish my dream. I moved out of the village in November to the nearby town using the Givedirectly transfers. I wanted to explore opportunities beyond my village with hairdressing which I was fortunate to get. Now I have observed that having a hairdressing business in the city will increase my income and I hope to invest my savings in starting my own hairdressing business."

"I am the happiest woman alive because my dream of building a house for my family was able to start when I was receiving transfers, our house is an old worn off structure. The rains have been our biggest enemy as it made the state of the house worse by washing off more of the mud wall. I have been working on getting a two room house which will require about 20 sheets of iron. I have so far done 9 sheets and the starting structure has gone up already. My goal is to finish this project this year using the transfers so I am left with more from my transfers to invest in the education of my children getting all my 6 school aged children in school."

"I want to express my gratitude to GiveDirectly for their timely assistance when we needed it most. Initially, some people were hesitant to accept it, but I recognized the pressing issues and expenses that needed to be addressed. At first, I was confused, thinking GiveDirectly was associated with the Red Cross organization, which typically provides housing assistance rather than cash. However, I'm pleased with the informative meetings and discussions held by GiveDirectly, which helped clarify that the cash came from generous donors outside the country. I am truly appreciative and hope that GiveDirectly continues to receive the necessary funding to support poor individuals in our country."
