"I am a parent of five school going children and their education is very important to me. Being unemployed and without any reliable source of income, resulting to uncertain future of our finances, I want to ensure that my children's educational needs are secured, so I decided to invest in goats. My plan is to continue using a portion of the transfers that I will be receiving from GiveDirectly to buy more goats in the hopes that they will multiply and increase in number and value, becoming valuable assets in the future. By building up this investment, I aim to create a sustainable source of income that I can rely on in the future, especially when this program comes to an end. Once these goats have multiplied, I intend to sell some of them and use the proceeds to support my family and contribute to my children's education as they transition to higher levels of schooling. I think that this investment is a sensible step in reaching my aim of giving my kids the greatest opportunity available. I am devoted to this strategy because I recognize that a better future for my children depends on their education."

received a $27 twenty-sixth payment.
"As a person with disability, I find it challenging to support myself and rely entirely on my family for care. To ensure my daily needs are met, I plan to continue using a portion of the transfers I receive from GiveDirectly to cover essentials like food, medication, and clothing. This support is has proven to be very important for my well-being and helps me maintain a better quality of life, for which I am very grateful. In addition to addressing my immediate needs, my plan is to also invest another portion of my transfers and buy more livestock, particularly goats as I believe that goats multiply faster. I am hopeful that these goats will multiply and increase in number and value over time, becoming a reliable asset that I can depend on in the future. This investment will provide me with a sense of security and financial independence in future to manage my condition especially when this program comes to an end. I am truly grateful that this program considered me especially with my situation and thanks to the transfers that I receive, I can eat every day and my family is able to take good care of me."

"I have had a goal of buying animals. This is not a small task. Buying a kid goat now is around $25 which will take time before its able to give birth. My plan is to save up to a certain point where I am able to buy the mature goats going for $60 and this will be able to give birth and I can sell them to even buy cows. I know this will allow my family to educate my 7 children who are still in school. I know with the continuous saving I will be able to achieve this goal."

"Cash has allowed me to dream. I never in my wildest imagination thought I could join a savings group and make large cash investments. I recently bought a cow using my $150 received from the cash I had saved. I want to now open a business. I will require around $100 to start the business. My plan is to save and get to this amount and then start the business. This will change my financial fortunes as now, my husband is the sole income earner in our home. I would like to see this change."

Saumu
received a $27 twenty-fourth payment.
"I have a one roomed house that serves both as our kitchen and our living and sleeping area. I have 5 children which makes it very hard to all sleep in this house and we end up asking for places for them to sleep from our neighbours. I do not like being a bother but building a house is an expensive affair. My hope is to ensure that I am able to build an additional house to house my entire family and this savings group will play a big part in meeting this goal."

"It is a wonderful thing to have the cash to sustain my family thanks to the transfers. I however would want to still have the same security the cash gives even when the cash comes to an end. My aim is to buy more animals to rear and also get a chance to go to beauty school. I want to learn how to make hair as well as know other beauty skills which I can use to generate an income. Additionally animal rearing means increasing animal numbers to allows for me to sell them when a need arises. This will allow my children go through school and for them to also have food."
