Janet
received a $28 fifth payment.
"I started building a new house last year which stalled for some time due to inadequate finances to buy the required materials. However, since I am now assured of getting my monthly transfers, my main objective is to bring this house to completion. I am planning to spend my transfers on buying the remaining materials every month and purchasing doors and fixing them. I have a young family and my priority is to accommodate them in my new house."

Dzendere
received a $28 fifth payment.
"My objective currently is to buy a goat every month and keep them in my homestead, and allow them to reproduce and increase in number. Owning the goats is a saving for me because I do not have a source of income that I can rely on. I can readily sell the goats when they reproduce and increase in number to meet my future financial needs. I am also planning to buy 14 pieces of iron sheets in months to come and building poles in order to renovate my kitchen which is nearly collapsing. I want create enough space for my items and a good place to cook since my current house is not spacious enough."

Mwalimu
received a $28 eighth payment.
"I had hoped to utilize the funds this year to expand my farm by investing in the purchase of a few farm animals, ideally goats and poultry. They could always help me out if I'm having money difficulties. Additionally, because I'm unemployed and care for my sick mother and on top of that, I'll utilize the money this year for feeding needs as well. Finally, since the majority of my clothing is outdated and worn out, I will purchase a few items for myself."

Rukia
received a $28 tenth payment.
"My plans for the future mostly revolve around my kids and their education. Therefore, each time I receive the transfers I will ensure to settle the tuition fees for six of my kids who still happen to be in school. Apart from that I also intend to invest in buying a couple of poultry and goats as I have been doing with the past transfers. The reason being when I am struggling with finances they can in handy since I can offer them up for sale and cater for what is urgent and needed at the time."

Dhahabu
received a $28 tenth payment.
"Supporting the education of my four children is my priority right now. Two of them are in primary school, where they pay at least $17 per term, while the others in high school need at least $160 in school fees per academic term. This would have been an unbearable burden for my husband and me to handle had it not been for the cash transfers. The little my spouse and I make from casual jobs and sardine(‘omena’)-selling business respectively cannot cover all these fees. That is why I intend to continue supplementing my earnings with cash transfers to finance the education of my children."

Zawadi
received a $28 tenth payment.
"Last month, I acquired a goat though the cash transfers. The goal is to expand the herd to at least six goats by the end of the year, accumulate reliable wealth that I can generate money from to support my mother with household needs. I would like to relieve her from the struggles of charcoal burning to provide for us. Given my vulnerability state, sometimes I get sick and cannot handle anything to contribute to essentials like food or school fees for my four siblings. So, rearing livestock is the surest hope I have at making an income. I hope that the next cash transfer will allow me to achieve this objective."

Thabu
received a $28 tenth payment.
"Being a single parent has not been simple for me, especially since I don't have a steady income. I make a living by burning wood and selling charcoal. At $3 per bag of charcoal, the pay is appalling and the work is tedious. I can sell a maximum of three bags in a good week, netting me $9. This amount is not enough to cover all of my family's expenses, including buying food, clothes, and paying my son's tuition. The money from the transfers will assist me in achieving my main objective of sending my son to a university while also enabling me to purchase food for the house when I am unable to do so."
