"I spent the whole of my third transfer on construction of a new house using the materials that I had already purchased using my previous transfers. I previously lived in a two roomed house which seemed to small to accommodate the entire family. I had longed for a spacious house for so long but due to extreme poverty, I could not achieve this dream. I really don't know how to appreciate this organisation for transformation it bought to my family. I so happy and wishes GD an everlasting life."

"I spent my third transfer on renovating my house which was initially mud-walled and prone to damages whenever it rained. I also purchased a sofa set since I lacked the capability of acquiring some. During the visits by GiveDirectly staffs, I borrowed seats from the neighborhood in order to cover up the shame. I am glad I currently own nice seats that can only be compared to the rich. Lastly, I purchased an ox to help me in ploughing of my farms. I previously depended on other people's oxen which were not very reliable as they always dissapointed when I needed the service most."

"I spent a portion of my third transfer on constructing a house for my sister-in-law whose spouse passed on 4 years ago leaving her in a very poor house. After the burial of the spouse, the lady left for her maternal home because there was nobody who could construct her a house and take care of her. Having been left alone after the death of my family members, I decided to bring back the sister-in-law to keep me company in the lonely home. That was the reason for constructing her a house. Besides that, I extended my house which was very small and could therefore not accommodate my family well. Finally, i purchased some livestock to fill the herd my dad left."
