"My life has changed because I have got enough beddings which can accommodate my visitors. Before, I would request neighbours to accommodation my visitors in the night. In addition, I can also afford to change clothes. In the past I hardly changed clothes."

"My life has been different in many ways than it would have been had I not received GiveDirectly transfers. We now have a bigger and a more comfortable house, many thanks to GiveDirectly transfers. I never thought I could have a whole new house anytime soon however much I wanted to have one. The old house was so old and had a leaking roof which was often so uncomfortable for us especially during the rainy seasons when we could have long days and sleepless nights. This was so disgusting and often left me feeling like I had failed as a parent in providing one of the most essential needs for my family."

"My life has changed in many ways in the positive direction. After buying a water tank and connecting water into our compound travelling for long distances in search of this very essential commodity has been a thing of the past. I have now devoted the time that I would have otherwise used in search for water to do other reasonable things like farming that in the long run has seen me raise an extra income to support my family. My level of cleanliness has equally risen as I now have plenty of water to do any form of cleaning in my compound. This difference has been brought about by the GiveDirectly transfers that I received."

"When my son was a bout to sit for the final examinations that could lead him to secondary school, I was worried on how and where I would get money to pay for fees. It appeared to me to be a tough task. Right now, I am sure that he will make it. I promise to give his education the first priority because out of it, he will have a tool for employment opportunity. My life now is good without worries, I could now have time to reorganized myself on how to face the family life a head. Life without anxiety."

"GiveDirectly has made me do farming investment as I wished. It has been my main objective to practice cash crop farming, but since I had no land, I was unable to do it in a larger scale in order to realize the full benefit. I realized that, if resources are available, someone can easily tap the available resources for wealth creation. I now have things which I had desire to have."

"As a widower whose partner died and left behind with five children to care for, providing for them has best a great challenges since I have no proper income but depends on casual labor that is unpredictable and tedious with meager earnings. I lived in a traditional house of one room that served as sitting room ,bedroom, kitchen and a store. It was old with leaky roof and tilted walls. I was forced to sleep in it with my children as begging for sleeping spaces in the neighborhood was prohibited by our tradition in that a widower must not sleep in other people's houses. Today I have build a better house with enough rooms for to accommodate us comfortably. I stocked enough food that will push us though to the next season of harvest. I have also invested enough in sugarcane farming which is the main economic activity in this region. This gives me hope for the future as in the next one and a half years, they will mature for harvesting and this will boost my financial security. I will be able to pays school fees for my children with ease to the level of their wish. I also intend to buy a dairy cow with earnings from sugarcane harvest. A dairy cow will eventually provided me with milk that will improve on the nutrition of my family. I shall sell the surplus of milk and save the money to buy a solar light system and chairs. I feel happy and satisfied with what I have done with the opportunity that GiveDirectly gave me. "

"In the next six months, I will have improved my home by making a concrete floor in my living room. I will have furnished the room too and this means that if GD will visit me again as they did in November, I will have a nice place to host my guests. It will not be like the other time when I had to host them outside the house because I did not have enough furniture and also because it was untidy. I am so grateful to GiveDirectly."
