"My life is now different in that, I regained ownership of my six acres of land that were in the creditor's possession. In this land, I have planted a varriety of food crops i.e maize, groundnuts, potatoes etc hence assuring me of food security for my family. Previously, I used to travel long distance to my grandmother's home in order to find land to plant crops which wasn't even big enough."

The chrildren have ended up dorging class due to hunger."

"Receiving this money means owning two acres of farm land. We started purchasing the two acres but not completed yet. When we complete purchasing, we shall grow crops, sell some for educating our children and the balance will be eaten. Currently we are cultivating on an acre of land given to us by the clan but it is not enough to support our household."

John
received a $450 second payment.
"The cash transfers empowered me financially to purchase household items such as mattress, bedsheets and curtains. My house is neat and comfortable. I also acquired an oxplough and oxen which made it easier for us to plough and till our farmlands at no cost.Prior to receiving the cash transfers, it was difficult to access oxen for ploughing. I had to labour on people's land so as to access an oxplough."
