"My expectation in the next few months is to have opened and had a running retail business. This will be a source of income to my family and also serve the people around as the nearest shopping center is quite a distance from the village. The income from this business will build me financially and put me in a position to better look after my family."

"Receiving this money means that i will be able to actualize my plan of fencing my 1½ Acre piece of land into paddocks so that i will be able to restrict my cattle from grazing all over the compound which will ensure more grass growth hence sufficient feeds and more milk production. On the other hand, i also plan to build a poultry unit to keep my poultry since the 10 chicken i have currently sleep in the kitchen together with my children which has been a health hazard to my children due to the foul smell from poultry waste."

"I have a huge piece of land and the problem as always been the means of cultivation. I haven't been able to fully utilize it because I depend on oxen for hire which many farmers within also depend on, so by the time I'm getting the service, am already late for planting and this has led to dismal yields year in year out. My biggest desire is to purchase a pair so that I can be able to timely cultivate and subsequently produce better yields. I believe this will lead to food security in my household and the surplus will be sold to the outside market thus earning an income. Apart from that, I plan to invest in the hotel business. This will earn me a daily income that can comfortably meet the needs of the family. I also intend to put some money in Merry-go-round as a way of saving and that is what receiving this money means to me."

"Food insecurity is my biggest hardship because of the low rainfall we have been experiencing lately. We therefore get little harvest which can only last 1 to 2 months unlike when the rains are good, we get food that can last us up-to a whole year. This forces us to spend more money buying food from shops thus affecting provision of other basic needs such as education. "

"I have gone through many financial constraints in my life.I did a course in tailoring but I have never used my skills because I do not having a sewing machine. This has limited my income.I was once employed for only six months but I could not continue because employees increased each day and priority was given to those who had sewing machines.I have always wished to own my own sewing machine so that I could open my own shop. With money from Give Directly I now have hope that my dream will be realized.
