"The biggest hardship I face in my life is lack of a spacious house. I have a small iron roofed house with a low roof and small rooms which can not accommodate me and my household members. We squeeze ourselves in a small house with no privacy because of its small size. "

"In the next six months, I expect my life to change in that I shall have registered with an organization that gives farmers inputs on credit (One Acre Fund). By being part of this organization I will enjoy the services of being given fertilizers and hybrid seeds to be paid back at a later date. This will be a great step towards improving crop production that will enable me to have enough food for the family and even practice agribusiness."

"Receiving this money means I will complete building a semi permanent house for my children to sleep in. Currently, my children stay with their Fran mother due to poor accomodation. I will then connect power to my house in order to provide light at night. The light will help my children revise at night in order to attain good grades at school. They are forced to forego revising at night due to lack of light to enable them read."

"The biggest difference in my daily life is that I have bought a dairy cow. I used to buy milk from my neighbor and it was so costly for me. I depend on casual jobs in the village and the amount of money I get is not enough to meet all the basic needs including buying a cow. At some point, I explain to my neighbor what I was going through and he gave me a dairy cow with a condition that he will come for it anytime in case an emergency arise at his homestead. This has reduced the cost of buying milk. My worry was that incase he come back and take the cow. I am so happy now I have my own and I have enough milk form,y family and I live withough any worry. I do sell the surplus milk at the shopping center and I earn an income to meet other basic household need that I have. I no longer do much of the casual jobs, I have devoted most of my time on my own farm. I am so much grateful for the money sent from GiveDirectly because it has changed our living standard."

"My friend and I were planning to plant beans. He has a piece of land which is fertile and this crop would do well if all the necessary inputs are used. Since that land has been idle for a while we thought of trying this idea and earn something out of it. This is a great opportunity for us to invest our income. God willing, if everything goes well we will use the profits from the business to start other income-generating activities"

"In the next six months, I would be earning good money through the sale of eggs. This money would enable me to be financially stable. I would majorly focus on adding more chicken with the profits I get so that I can sustain my self even after Give Directly have stopped sending us the transfers. I am glad I was one of the beneficiaries because I would have reached this far without them."
