Chogo received a $494 initial payment.
"I spent a larger portion of the transfer on buying two heifers and a bull which I am currently keeping them in my homestead. My expectation is that through these heifers, I will be able to raise school fees for my children who are still young. As they reproduce and increase in number, I can readily sell the offspring to help when in need. In addition to this, I also bought a bicycle to help in carrying water because currently we are faced with water shortage in our area. I have to travel over long distances in search for water. This bicycle is convenient for this purpose. Lastly, I purchased a new mattress and did some shopping on clothing for my family."

"The biggest difference in my daily life is that I will now be ploughing using my own pair of oxen that I acquired through this transfer. I was previously hiring them at a fee during the planting season. This was expensive with a larger acreage hence I could not utilise my whole farm. I am glad that I will no longer be hiring from neighbours, instead I will be hiring to them at a fee thus earning an income. Having a pair of oxen is much convenient for early preparation and cultivation, thus they will largely boost my farming for a good harvest."

"The biggest difference in my daily life is that the transfer has enabled me to buy two heifers which are assets to me. I am a single mother and raising fees for my children might be difficult in some years to come. My children are still young and I am expecting to rely on these livestock to educate them. I am expecting these heifers to reproduce and increase in number. I will be able to sell the offsprings to cater for my financial needs. I will also be getting milk which I can sell and earn an income."
