"Having been anaemic for quite some time, seeking medical attention from the hospital has been so straining not only to my immediate household but also to my parents and relatives. I had been surviving on fund drives which not everyone in the village was willing to always participate in giving. At some point, we opted to obtain a soft loan from a friend with the option of selling out a piece of family land to pay him back. Upon receiving the transfers, it was quite a relief to us all. We managed to clear the debt which stopped the plans to sell a piece of land, I also obtained 24 iron sheets which we are looking forward to using in the construction f a new house, attended and paid for the medical check-up, and also bought foodstuff for the household with the remaining amount."

"Upon receiving my first transfer, I spent part of it on purchasing livestock. I obtained a good breed of a cow that came with a calf. This has seen us produce enough milk for domestic use without having to buy as we used to do before. It has cut down on our expenses, and we can now save a little bit higher amount of money for other household needs than what we were initially saving. We decided to spend the remaining amount of money on purchasing enough household foodstuff, and other needs which were still missing."

"I have two kids who are still studying. One is in a local poly technic pursuing engineering while the other one is in college pursuing an agricultural course. The former is in his first year while the latter is in his last academic year. I usually pay a combined 60,000 shillings per annum as school fees for each academic year. Raising this amount has not been easy since I do not have a reliable source of income. Receiving this money will bring a sire of relief as I will be able to clear the outstanding fee balances amounting to 70,000 shillings."

"I spent the first transfer on the building materials which I have already used to construct a new house. The previous house was too small, just a single room that could not fit the three of us. I am glad I now have a two bedrooms house and we now have some privacy. Aportion of the money I spent on a goat for rearing as away if investing for the future. Since goats doesn't require much attention and finances I find it easy to maintain."

"I bought goats for rearing with the first transferas away of investment for the future. They are easy to manage and at the same time they give birth twice a year. This makes them more beneficial. Part of the money I spent I spent on building materials that I am planning to use to construct a house. The current house is in a bad condition and I do not find it safe to say in."

"Crop failure in my farm has been one of my biggest worry. I have not had a successful maize harvest for the past 7 years mainly as a result of drought and crop disease. This means that we solely have to look for casual labor so as to buy maize flour for my family, something we could have easily avoided if maize harvest would have been successful."
