"My life is different than it would have been if I never received the transfers in that I was able to pay school fees for my children in various schools. I do casual jobs in the village and sometimes I don't get this jobs. The amount of money that I get through this casual jobs is so small and cannot meet all the basic needs of the family including paying school fees for my children. My children used to be sent home to collect the school fees and this was affecting their performance since the could missed some of the lesson. When I received the second transfer I was able to pay school fees On time and made them improved in their performance. I am so happy because I am able to concentrate on my daily farming at home without being stressed up. My children are doing good in school and I have hope that it will their vision and mission will be fulfilled in the future."

"My life is different than it would have been if I never received the transfers in that I have build a better house. I used to live in a small house which could not host all the family comfortably. I do small scale farming and casual jobs in the village. The amount of money that I get through this jobs is so small and cannot meet all the basic needs of the family including saving to build a better house. Currently I have a decent house, we are no longer exposed to dust particles which might caused respiratory related deseses. I no longer shy to welcome visitors to my house because I have a spacious house. I am so grateful to GiveDirectly because it has changed our living standard."

"My life is different than it would have been if I never received the transfers in that I was able to pay school fees for my children in secondary and college on time. I used to do casual jobs and small scale farming to earn income to support my family. The amount of money that I get through this was so small and could not meet all the basic needs including paying school fees for my children. My children used to be sent home to collect the school fees and this was affecting their performance. At some point I started small business of groceries. I used to sell vegetables, fruits and onions. This business was good because there was demand for vegetable in town. I was in a position to pay part of the school fees and buy food for my family. When I received the second transfer it really boosted me. I paid all the school fees for my children for that particular term and it motivated me to work harder at home. I no longer do the casual jobs, I have devoted much of my time in doing horticulture farming. I am so grateful for the support because GiveDirectly has enabled me to pay school fees on time and to start horticulture farming."

I now own a better house which can host all my family members comfortably. We used to live in a small grass thatched house before. I also bought sofa set seats and tables for the new house. It look so decent and I nowadays do not shy to welcome visitors to my house like before. Finally I bought food and clothes for my children. I am so happy because GiveDirectly has changed our living standard."
