"My biggest hardship is financial constraints. My geographical home is semi arid and this means as a farmer I can only harvest my produce once or twice a year, each harvest brings in about $300 and this is not enough to pay school fees for my 6 children. They often don't get sent home for school fees but most of the time I have to work extra hard to get enough income to give them quality education."

"As a family, we have been relying solely on my husband's income from his casual job. When the Covid-19 pandemic stroke, my husband lost his job since many local companies laid off their staff in attempts to contain the disease. As a result, we had to struggle to make ends meet since we had no other source of income. To worsen the situation, we were repaying a loan. The pressure we experienced as a family was the worst. Hence, the loss of a casual job by my husband following the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic act as the biggest hardship we have faced as a family."

"The biggest hardship I have faced has been unemployment. My parents struggled to support me in going to nursing school and getting a Diploma, but after finishing school I haven't been able to get a job. I re-sorted to volunteering at a nearby dispensary where I get paid $120 per month. With my income alone I can't fully provide basic needs such as paying school fees for my children and my husband since he is also doing his Diploma."

"In the year 2018 my daughter got sick and she was diagnosed with cancer, the process of treatment started and being a jobless person who depends only on the husband things ware very hard. I was forced to sell all the dairy animals in the compound, sheep and piece of land so that I can pay for her medication. I spend all the resources in medication leaving us without anything. That is the biggest hardship have ever faced."

"The biggest hardship in my life is hunger. This area does not receive normal rainfall so that it affects us in the way that what we harvest is meagre. Hence as poor people we fail to buy food from the markets since prices are also high"
