"My main challenge that I am facing right now is about my house. It is a challenge for me because, for each time the rain falls and I am not home, the water wets my bed and it makes my room cold and it is affecting me. I always have to set a coal pot in my room to warm myself before I go to be because of the coldness of the room."

"With the dry nature of our region, farming has never been that promising as dry seasons have always cut our hopes of a good harvest short. Even though there had been a government initiative to introduce irrigation farming through the country governments it was so unfortunate that it stopped a kilometer away from our village. For several months now, we had been buying fresh farm produce that we can't produce on our dry pieces of farms. With the first transfer, I saw an opportunity to establish my own by obtaining a generator and pipes that I am currently installing. The cost of the project is so far at KES31000 and now looking forward to soon start the production of short-seasoned crops that are in high demand in the market. I also obtained a solar panel and pieces of lighting equipment worth KES2500 to replace the kerosene lamp that had been producing a lot of fumes unconducive for my 9 children who had been struggling to complete their school assignments every evening under it. I am glad that the lamps are now illuminating a wider space making it easier for everyone to complete any assigned task. With the remaining KES20000, we have a plan to add a heifer to the two indigenous breeds we had been having as we need more milk enough for our family of 11."

"The biggest difference in my daily life is the currently flourishing livestock project that I established. Looking at the ongoing construction of a spacious, secure, and strong poultry coop that will soon be ushering in some chicks and the five sheep I bought brings not only joy but also pushing me to work harder in ensuring that I achieve the desired outcome. I am grateful to have been one of the recipients as this chance came when I really needed to fix a lot in my family."
