"I am a farmer growing maize mainly for my household consumption. Usually, I using the traditional methods of cultivation using my hands which is time-consuming and characterized by low harvested hence insufficient food for the family. My wish has been to improve it so that I produce enough harvest. I spent KES 26,000 to purchase a pair of oxen to assist me in the preparation of the farm. . Previously, I had to hire from my neighbors for KES 2000 per acre which was relatively expensive. In addition, I used KES 10,000 to invest in my mother's a charcoal vendor by purchasing more stock since it was unstable. Furthermore, I spend KES 6000 to repair my motorbike which was a fault and I lacked enough money to repair it. My plan is it will assist me in fetching water for the family. Previously, my spouse had to walk for a long distance to get water, or sometimes I had to hire someone to assist her. Also, I purchased a new mattress for KES 6000, the one I had earlier was old and worn out which was not comfortable to sleep on. I was always feeling backache something that makes my life miserable. The remaining amount helps me to clearing the fee arrears of my children."

"If I am bless to receive money from Givedirectly, I intend to start a business. The money that will be generated from the business will help us to fix our house and pay our children school fees. Our house is falling apart right now because we don't have money to repair it. We have to send our children to live and be raise by different people just so that they can get education. It really breaks my heart that I, as a mother I will not be able or is not able to bring up my children the way I want them to grow. Therefore, if the Givedirectly help me with money it will help change whether my children will stay outside and be brought up by different people or their own parents."
