"My life is currently different from how it would have been had I never received the transfer since I no longer incur transport expenses. Because of this, I have been able to save some money on a daily basis which I would otherwise use in paying for my transport. Owning a cow is a big achievement I have experienced in my life so far. With this, I am optimistic that in the next eight months, I will be having an alternative source of income which is the sale of milk I will be getting from my cow. This will help me to start up other business ideas I have in mind such as opening a boutique. I swear my life won't be the same again when all these ideas materialize and become successful."

"I used my second transfer to buy a piece of land. I am a single mother and I have been living with my parents on a small piece of land and have nowhere to farm. I have been depending on the little money I get from casual jobs to meet family basic needs such as food. I sold my dairy cow that I bought using my first transfer and add the money to my second transfer and bought the piece of land where I can now do farming to provide enough food for my family and sell the surplus to pay school fees for my child in secondary school."

"I used my second transfer to buy two dairy cows. I add my savings from my first transfer to my second transfer and bought the cows. I have been struggling to buy milk and meet other family basic needs with the little money I got from my daily wages as a motor cyclist. This was expensive since I did not have another source of income and my family at times could take black tea when I did not get money to buy milk and this used to worry me a lot since my children are still young and they could be malnourished. It is my joy now since I have enough milk for my family and I can even sell the surplus to earn an income to meet other family basic needs."

"I spent the larger part of my second transfer on buying three cows and once their population increases significantly in future. I am certain of enough supply of milk hence I won't have to be buying milk from my neighbours in the village and this money I shall save on buying food for my family members with ease. The remaining amount I spent on paying school fees for my child and three bags of maize for my family's consumption."

"My life is different in that I now have a new and bigger house for the family. I never thought I could afford to build a new house for my family not until we received the GiveDirectly transfers. We have been able to bring this house to its completion and even bought furniture and other household goods. The house that we built is a three roomed timber house that is enough to give us comfort and decency as a family as well. We also have a dairy cow that will give us milk in the very near future. This will bring to an end the buying of milk that we have been going doing and enable us save some more money that can be channeled into other meaningful investments for the family."

"I have six children, two of whom are in secondary school while three are in primary. One of those in secondary is a candidate for this year's Kenya Certificate of Secondary Examination (KCSE). receiving this money means he will have a an ample time finishing his education. I am planning to use my first transfer to make an up front payment of his fees so he can concentrate on education. With the remaining amount, I intend to purchase a dairy cow which we will rely as a source of income for our household needs. Upon receiving the second transfer, I am planning to buy a water generator so as to venture into advanced agribusiness. I am going to irrigate my farm and plant perennial crops that will give me returns almost thrice a year. "

"I used part of my second transfer to buy a dairy cow since I have been buying milk for my family for many years. This was expensive because the money I got from casual jobs was little and could not cater all my basic needs. I also used part of my transfer to buy a dairy goat. I bought the goat because their gestation period is short and will boost milk production for my family. Unfortunately the dairy cow died and I thank God the dairy goat can still provide milk for my family."
