"Receiving this money means I will be able to buy a piece of land for cultivation, provide the education needs of my children. I have been struggling to work with only one garden for a very long time but now since this chance has come, I am going to buy more land. This will make it a little easier for me to manage my family."

"Receiving this money means to invest in my children's Education. I only own a single piece of land and yet cultivation is the main source of earning. I always get very little from cultivation to pay my children's school fees. Most of them end up being school drop outs hence has affectted their futures. Givedirectly transfers will enable me pay thier fees in time and they may end up getting better jobs. Therefore my children can be able to easily take care of their needs in future."

"My life is currently different from how it was in that, I no longer take loans like I used to do some months ago. I have also adopted a good saving plan which has really helped me handle emergencies. Borrowing money had been the norm. I lost most of the things that I worked very hard to get such as my phone in order to settle the debts. With a good saving plan, I have managed to balance the money well and even keep some as savings for my college education which I am yet to pursue."

"In the next six months, It is my wish to have cleared payment of all school fees for the remaining terms for my three children who are still in secondary school. Two of them will be completing their form four comes November which will be a relief to me. This would enable me to dwell more and redirect my resources to subsistence farming since that is the most productive sector as far as our farming is concern. I have a plan to lease more pieces of land to put under cultivation where I will be planting more beans, maize, and potatoes in some parts. It is also my prayer that all my children will pass their secondary exams so that they can join their tertiary level of education."

"Despite all my children being grown up now, not all of them were able to acquire the basic education that could atleast land them meaningful jobs. Secondly, I live in a house that is slowly collapsing due to the heavy rains we are currently experiencing and despite my worry, nothing much can be done. All this can be attributed to the fact that my husband and I do not earn enough income to meet all these needs as we are both casual labourers relying on inconsistent jobs. "

"Receiving this money means I will be able to go back to school. I dropped out of school in 2016 after I had sat for my ordinary level examination because my parents lacked money to take care of my education needs. To date, I have just been at home. I am hopping that if this money comes, I will be in position to get back to school and do a course prefferably a nurssary teaching course so that I am able to earn salary and take care of my needs."

"Lack of a reliable source of income has been the biggest hardship in life. My husband works as a loader in one of the maize millers in Mombasa. The nature of that job is dusty and toilsome. It has resulted in poor health and subsequently low productivity at work since he fails to report to work in some days. This again translates into poor pay of which myself and our children are largely affected. In most cases, we are unable to meet the educational needs of the children as well as his medical attention. This transfers will help us in bettering our lives. First of all, my husband will join me at home and assist in running the projects that we have agreed to put up. He is the one to operate the motorcycle taxi given that he has vast experience in it. I believe if we join our hands together, the family's wellbeing will greatly improve."

"My greatest desire is to expand my clothing business. Currently, I deal with babies' clothes and that of ladies and the challenge I have is lack of a secured place to operate in. In most cases, I conduct the business at the verandah or at the open when it is dry. This is attributed to the fact that the little income I earn from it is not sustainable. It is my wish that once I receive the transfers, I will rent a space; this will enable me to operate efficiently hence maximizing on income generation. As a result, I will no longer endure the scorching sun and the inconveniences of moving my precious commodities around every day. Ultimately, I will be able to provide sufficiently for the family's needs like food, healthcare, and education."
