"I'm so happy nowadays because I have realized some change in my life in terms of hire land since I did not have enough land to farm on. I now sleep on a presentable mattress courtesy of the transfers because initially I slept on a small and worn out mattress. I'm Glad that I managed to pay my children's school fees therefore this term they will not be sent home for defaulting school fees. Finally I have a cow that I look up to for the future that will produce and supply me with milk for sale and consumption hence improved diet and income."

"The biggest difference is that I managed to purchase a cow at a cost of 16000 KES, something that I would have never had done were it not for the cash transfers. the cow has already given birth to one calf and I am sure that it will still give birth in the future which loosely translates to more milk production from time to time. Basically what that means is that I will not have to be buying milk from the local vendors."

"Receiving this money is going to relieve me from borrowing agricultural inputs like oxen and an ox-plough. When I receive this money I will buy my own oxen and ox-plough that will help me plough the fields. This will relieve me of the borrowing burden.. I will also buy a cross breeded cow that will produce milk for both commercial and domestic purposes. This diary project will help in household income sustainability."

"Before GiveDirectly came to us, I never owned any livestock in my life, though it had been my aspiration to have them since they are investments to me. Through the transfer, I managed to purchase a cow and the two goats, which I am hoping that they will reproduce, and increase in number and have many of them. I will also be getting milk from my own cow for the first time, I will no longer be buying from neighbours. To me, owning this livestock is the biggest difference in my daily life."

"Receiving this money will enable me to build a poutry unit to practice poultry keeping, a project that i know will help me get some daily income upon selling eggs and once the chicken multiplies i will sell them and use the money to buy sheep for rearing in my farm. I also plan to buy a dairy cow with the remaining part of the transfer in order to reduce the cost of buying milk daily as well as selling some to also earn some income on a daily basis."

"Dairy farming is the biggest occupation people engage in within our location. This is because the climatic condition favour the same. I have always wished to raise some dairy cattle in my farm but i haven't been able to realise this dream due to lack of finances. I therefore plan to use money from Gd to buy two cows then use the remaining part of the money to furnish my house and buy household items and furniture."
