How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life has tremendously improved in that, I dress better and own livestock. In the past, I couldn't afford nice clothing for myself and family due to the poverty I lived in. In addition, I never owned livestock hence there was nothing I could sell for income. But I'm very optimistic that in the near future, these heifers will provide me with milk and be a source of my family livelihood.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
According to me, GiveDirectly has done well by lifting many poor people to an admirable standard. Previously, many lacked assets but were able to buy them with the unconditional transfers. Personally, GiveDirectly has enabled me to own livestock. There is nothing wrong that this organization has done so far.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I used my second transfer to buy livestock i.e three heifers and clothes.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The significant difference in my daily life is that the family members dress well and eat good food. The family is happy and healthy. In the past, we could hardly afford nice clothing. In addition to this, I did not own any livestock. In the longrun when the livestock reproduce and multiply, I will sell them and cater for the family needs.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I received a mobile money message from GiveDirectly reading that I had received UGX 1730250. I was overwhelmed with joy because GiveDirectly had chosen to assist me unconditionally.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent UGX 1300000 to purchase three cows and UGX 60000 on purchasing a bag of cassava. I purchased clothes and bedding for the family worth UGX 200000. The balance was spent on buying food for the family.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means I will be able to build an iron roofed house. This is based on the fact that grass is scarse and hard to find.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I am happiest in the evening when I am seated with my friends at the centre.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship that I am faced with is inadequacy of food. The only piece of land that I have is too small for me to cultivate as much as I would want. As a result, I harvest in smaller quatities and therefore famine in the end. The little that is produced is not good enough to sustain the needs of my household.
