"My expectation in the next six months is to buy a cow. I want to have a second source of income. I chose to buy a cow because very few people own cows in this region yet the demand for milk is very high. I am sure that this plan will go well because I have the necessary skill of keeping dairy cows and I also know where to get healthy cows that have a high milk production capacity."

"I live in a very small house which is not spacious enough to host visitors. My kitchen serves the purpose of a living room too.Receiving this money from Give Directly will therefore help me to build another house which will ensure my visitors comfort. Owning another cow has been another wish for me.I have one cow and the milk I get is just for consumption. I need another cow so that I can get milk for sale. This will boost my income."

"Before the coming of GiveDirectly to my village, our lives were so miserable. We are now so grateful because of what the organization did to us. First, our children are now studying without any disruptions. This is because from the transfers we received from GiveDirectly, we bought them, stationeries school uniforms and paid their fees as well. Their academic performance has also improved. Secondly, we now own different types of livestock such goats and cows. The cows will help us in many ways like providing us with milk and even ploughing our farms. With the goats most of us have a business of buying and selling the offsprings to the local markets. Our lives have greatly changed. In my opinion GiveDirectly has done so well in my community, I do not see any sector that they failed us."

"In my opinion, GiveDirectly has been of great impact on my whole village. This is because the majority of us now own livestock such as goats, some dairy cows, and oxen. This is still unbelievable to most of us because had it not the organization coming to our village our lives would still be the same. We were not expecting our lives to change anytime soon.We thank God for the financial support from GiveDirectly. Secondly, the majority of us are now sleeping under iron-roofed houses which are permanent. Previously we used to sleep under small huts which are grass thatched and sometimes leaking. We are now happy and grateful because all is well now courtesy of GiveDirectly. For those reasons, I do not see any part that GiveDirectly has not done well."

"Receiving this money means that i will be able to pay school fees for my niece.Since her mother died, she has been under my care. She has not been able to fully settle in school-constantly being sent home every now and then. She is even home now and currently we have not been able to send her back.Once this is done I will also buy some sheep since they multiply quickly hence I will be assured of a good flock within a year. This I will later sell and buy two dairy cows"

"I was very excited when I heard that GiveDirectly will be enrolling people in my village.I felt that finally my dream of expanding my house will be fulfilled as well as owning another cow.My current house is very small and can hardly accomodate all the eight members of my family.Getting comfortable sleep is often a problem especially for the young children.I will also buy a cow to add to the one I have so that with milk proceeds I can be able to meet the needs of my family"

"I'm planning to invest the coming transfers on poultry. I got disappointed previously after losing all my poultry to a poultry disease outbreak and learnt from it. Since poultry grows and breeds fast, I believe that after six months I'll have more poultry which I'm planning to sell in order to raise money for purchasing a cow. I'll ensure I put the required measures to ensure that I don't lose my poultry again."

"My life is now different because of the dairy cows that I have. I am so sure that I will benefit a lot from them. First I will be getting some plenty of milk for my family. Which will make us be healthier. I will also be selling some few liters to my neighbors and get money in return. This will now be my major source of income. Previously I used to depend on the little money my spouse could get from his casual jobs. Secondly, I will be getting some manure from the cows. This will improve the fertility of my farm hence resulting in good harvesting products."

"Keeping the goats in my compound has made my life to be totally different. With the goats, they are easier and cheaper to manage compared to other domestic animals. To add on that, they have multiple uses such as milk production, manure and many more. My plan is when they reproduce and mature I will exchange some for a dairy cow so that I can get plenty of milk and to double my income. And according to me, these are the good assets that will help me in the near future. I will be able to meet my family's basic needs with ease. Thank you God for bringing GiveDirectly in my village."
