"The biggest hardship I have faced is being unemployed.I used to do car wash business in Nairobi but when the business collapsed,I could not find another job and providing for my family proved so difficult.I had to come back home and resort to farming. Before that transition, life was so difficult with a young family that I had."

"The biggest hardship I have faced is having to go without some meals in a day. The dry weather led to low farm produce over the last season and since my family depends mostly on farming for income, we had to miss some meals due to lack of food and insuficient funds to buy food."

"Passing my Kenya Certificate of Primary Education exams for me is the greatest achievement I am proudest of. Despite studying in a remote school and experiencing a lot of challenges-like lack of school fees, long distance between home and school etc, I still managed to excel in my final exam. "

"Three years ago, I started a youth group called young achievers with the sole purpose of empowering my fellow youths financially. My task is to look for casual jobs especially farm cultivation and then myself together with other group members carry out the task and then we split the payment amongst ourselves. Also I apply for county tenders and if successful we do the same. Three years down the line I have been able to empower 10 youths and this has impacted their lives positively. This for me is the achievement I am proudest of. "

"The biggest hardship I have ever experienced was lack of school fees especially when I was joining secondary school. This led to delay in entering form one and I largely missed the whole first term. So, I had to try as much as possible to catch up with my colleagues and this largely contributed to my dismal performance in my end of term examination. "
