"My grass thatched house is in very bad shape. The walls are almost collapsing because termites have feasted on the grass. The roof is leaking making it unbearable during the rainy season. Besides, it is very difficult to replace them since it requires hard labour. In addition, it is very small yet it also serves as a kitchen. I therefore plan to construct a better house that will save me the pain of living under such a roof. It will also accommodate my entire family and my grandchildren will not seek shelter anymore."

"Received this money means I will be able to build an iron roofed house. Maintaining a grass thatched house is such a hard thing to do these days because grass is scarce. Currently, I have to walk very long distances in search of grass because I have no option. I believe this will end when I build an iron roofed house. "

"Receiving this money means I will be able to build an iron roofed house so that I can rest from the budden of changing grass over and again. I am now weak because of old age and I really do not have energy to walk long distances in search of grass."

"I would like to spend Givedirectly money for building iron-roofed house. I stay in an area where termites destroy houses built with grass hence each year my roof gets spoilt. This has become an extra costs since It requires timely maintenance hence my household can not even save any money. When I build iron-roofed house, termites may not easily destroy it's roof hence will enable easy savings for other developments."

"I was living in a house in which was in a very bad state. Its roof was dilapidated and not spacious enough. It was an old house that was beyond repair. When I received my first transfer, I bought building materials which include 30 pieces of iron sheets, building poles, nails and timber which enabled me to build and finish my new house. To me, living in this new house is the biggest difference in my daily life. I never knew it could be this soon. I thank God for bringing help through this organization."
