Paul
received a $531 second payment.
"Due to inadequate rainfall in our region, so many seasonal rivers have dried up. This would force my wife to travel for long distance on a daily basis looking for water for domestic use. This prompted me to spare part of my transfers to buy a water tank. With this, he will be no longer wasting much time going to fetch water. During the rainy season, we will harvest enough water to take us to the next rainy season."

Chebet
received a $530 second payment.
"My life is different in that I have enough water for household and livestock use and I no longer walk for long distance to fetch water hence I can spend most of my time in my farm. The water is also clean and has reduced the risk of getting water borne diseases. I also have enough milk for my family since I used part of my transfers to buy a dairy cow. In the past , I have been buying milk and this was costly and I can now save the money that I could have used to buy milk and use to meet other family basic needs. I also sell the surplus milk to earn an income. Thank you Give Directly for the cash transfers."

Alice
received a $530 second payment.
"Right now, only God knows how I could have been had I not received the transfers. I now have enough water for both domestic and animal use which with the current drought, I would have had to probably sell some of my livestock at a throwaway price ore I would have used so much resources in buying water for use at home. The water that I now use is clean and well treated and I am confident that I won't get sick unlike before when we had so many cases of sickness. I also have an additional cow and two sheep to my herd and now I can feel like I am like the rest of the villagers since I can now look fter my children well."

Florence
received a $23 twelfth payment.
"In the next six months, I want to buy a water tank. This will help me save water during the rainy seasons. This is because in our area in the dry seasons we suffer a lot to get water and I would not want to go through the same struggle anymore. I want to take this opportunity and help myself."

Susan
received a $254 second payment.
"My life is currently different from how it was because I am at peace in my new house. I no longer get worried of rains interfering with our beddings as I used to instead I am able to trap rainwater from my roof. This has equally improved my self-esteem and I can now freely welcome visitors in my house unlike the past when I felt ashamed of my little hut."

Douglas
received a $50 fourth payment.
"My goals now that I have started receiving the money is to relocate back to my rural home and start to do some farming.
City life is very expensive and drains a lot of energy. One can never progress in life especially if you do not have a stable job. Everything in town has to be bought including water. My goals now that I have started receiving the money is to relocate back to my rural home and start to do some farming. Life is cheaper in the rural areas plus I don't have to pay rent or buy water since such are locally available at my disposal. By doing so, I will have saved myself from shame and embarrassment from my neighbors. I will also be able to cater for my family without much difficulty."

Rose
received a $549 initial payment.
"The biggest difference in my daily life is that I bought water tanks using the transfer. This has reduced the workload that I have since going far for water was quite hectic for me. With this, I am now able to focus on farming and so far I am expecting more farm produce."
