"Receiving this money means education for my family. I have a family of eight members. Two of my children are expected to join form one on May 2022. Everyone requires KES 45000. My husband and I are jobless and it is hard for us to get the school fees required. I will use KES 90000 to pay school fees for my children so that they can proceed with their learning. I will also use KES 20000 to buy five goats as an investment. This will help me get school fees in future."

"I have a family of three and I am also a widow. My husband died ten years ago. I work as a casual laborer earning approximately KES 5000 per month. This money is too little that I cannot pay school fees for my grandchildren and also buy food for the family. My house is also leaking during the rainy season. Upon receiving my money, I will renovate my house by changing the roof for KES 50000. I will also use KES 40000 to buy ten goats as an investment. This will help me in the future in case of an emergency. The remaining amount will be used to buy food for the family."

"I have a family of four members. I separated with my husband in 2020. We separated because I am suffering from epilepsy and he said that he cannot live with a sick person. Since then, my life has been full of struggles. I am working as casual labor and earning approximately KES 300 per day. This is not enough for the family necessities. My daughter never did her end-term examination last term due to lack of school fees. I will use KES 60000 for my medication. I have hope that I will heal up completely. I will also use KES 40000 to buy ten goats as an investment. This will help me get enough fees for my children to proceed with their learning in future. The remaining amount will be used to buy food for the family."

"I am a homestay mum because I do not have a job. I fully depend on my husband who works as a motorcycle rider. Due to the shortage and high prices of fuel, my husband has been unable to work for the past two weeks. Because of this, he has been struggling to meet our daily needs (food). I decided to sell a goat to get money and buy food for the family (wife and 1 child) but I was not successful. Together with my family, we slept hungry for most of the days. Upon receiving my transfer, I bought 12 packets of maize flour and some 2 Kg of sugar. The food I bought eased the tough situation I was in and I am happy that we had something to eat."

"I am raising four children as a single mother and I provide for them through the making of charcoal. I aim to make sure all my children get to secondary school and smoothly complete their studies. Receiving this money means using 18,000 KES to buy six goats that will act as my education investment for my children. As we speak my firstborn is in class two and I know by the time he will be joining secondary I will have many goats which I will sell a few to pay for all his high school fees. I will do the same to all my children."

"My ambition is to buy livestock when I receive the transfers. I have been envying neighbors who possess a herd of cattle that becomes their saving grace when there is an emergency. I have the responsibility of taking care of my two grandchildren and most of the time are sent home for school fees. I intend to use KES 15,000 to buy goats, and KES 30,000 to purchase cows. Having goats and cows will be easier for me to sell to pay fees and buy food when the need arises. With the balance to clear the school fees of two grandchildren and ordering new bedding for this, I will be already fulfilled my dream."

"My husband died 3 years ago leaving me with 4 children to take care of. These children have been seeking shelter from their relatives because their small structures' roofs are collapsing and they could not risk sleeping in them. Receiving this money means constructing a separate house for my children to have a nice shelter. This will guarantee them an opportunity to have enough space for their studies and also a nice place to sleep. To ensure this plan is achieved, I only need 50000 KES. The remaining amount will help me to buy some goats to act as a long-term project for me and my children in the future, also it will aid in supporting my children's education."

"I stay alone at the border of the village without any family, in a house without a door. Anyone can see my things while outside hence I feel insecure. I intend to build a three-roomed semi-permanent house and buy new beddings. I feel lonely in my house, this will be the best time to get my better half. I will use part of my transfer to pay a dowry for a lady of my choice. With the remaining amount, I will buy five goats as investments."

"I stay with my seven children in the same house. During the rain season, my house leaks and we have to change the positions of our beds. Receiving this money means better housing to me. I intend to renovate my house and build a two-roomed house where my children can sleep in. I have three children in college with a fee arrears, I will clear their balances so that they can also be independent in the future. With the remaining amount, I will buy goats as investments for my children. I am hoping for a better tomorrow through this financial aid."

"Imagine lacking a pit latrine in the twenty-first century. I have to use my neighbor's latrine whenever I feel like relieving myself. I will use my transfers to construct a pit latrine. This will cost me around 30,000 KES for its construction. I will also spend 20,000 KES to erect pillars for my two-bedroom structure to reinforce it. I will also buy five goats at 3500 KES which will act as my investment. The rest will support us with food and other household needs as my husband is very old and can no longer work."
