Depending on this is not stable because sometimes weather is not favourable. This transfers will assist me to purchase one and others on purchasing a water storage tank."

"My normal day entails going to work in our 1 acre piece of land early in the morning where we have grown maize. This will take us until around 3 pm then embark on my routine household chores such washing clothes, cleaning dishes, among others before fetching water and firewood in the evening. After the days activities, I feel most relax in the evening where we all converge in the kitchen as we chat while preparing dinner for the family. Therefore, making my evening my happiest part of my day."

"We live in a semi-arid area where there is no reliable source of clean water for drinking and other household uses. As such, it normally takes me about two hours to and fro a nearby water spring. Hence, receiving this money means that I shall be relieved from the daily role of fetching water by carrying on my back because I will afford to install tap water from a water pipe that passes about 300 meters away from our homestead."

"My day entails carrying out daily household chores in the morning such as preparing breakfast, washing utensils, clothes, among others. After preparing lunch for my family, I use my afternoon fetching firewood and water. My happiest part of my day is in the evening as I rest after a long day of energy draining activities."

"I will use this money to build a three roomed iron roofed house at an approximate cost of $300. This will enable me to harvest rain water during rainy seasons hence a relief in having to walk 4 kilometers to the nearby water pan in search of water for domestic use. I will therefore have buy a 3000 litres water tank @ $180. I live in my one roomed hut with my 19 year old son. According to our culture, a grown up boy should not live under one roof with his parents but we got no option on this since I only engage in a small business of buying eggs and selling them at a profit and I use all the money I earn to buy food only, the reason why I have never afforded to build him his own house. I will also spend $300 to buy a dairy cow whose income from selling milk will supplement my daily income from my business."

"The afternoon is the happiest part of my day because it is at this time when I am back from the farm and I could relax and also get my first day's meal, which I share with my children. Unlike in the morning when I wake up and leave to the farm while I am hungry. The evening also finds me when I am exhausted since apart from the farm work, I am required to do other household chores like fetching water, firewood, and cooking."

"House chores like fetching water and cleaning my utensils ,house and compound keep me busy during the morning hours. I leave for my tailoring classes at mid morning and come back home a 5 pm. I prepare food for my children and by the time I relax,it is usually dark. My schedule is very tight and the only time I relax is when I am in bed. This makes it the happiest part of my day."

"Receiving this money means that my family shall have sufficient water for household and farming uses. I have always been fetching water from the Mara river which takes me about four hours to and fro. Hence, I will utilize the transfer on purchasing a big water tank for collecting rainwater and paying for tap water. Since my age as advanced, having clean and safe water for use is a great achievement since I no longer afford to carry even a 20 litre jerrican."

"The biggest hardship I have faced, and still facing, is having to live in a house that is leaking in almost every corner. Every rainy season I get a lot of problems catching sleep because of the water that is dripping making the entire house wet. I have no means of building a better house now because of lack of finances."
