"I am currently working on saving money to buy a motorcycle, which I intend to use as a taxi. By August, I expect to have saved enough for the initial deposit and fuel expenses, at which point I plan to purchase the motorcycle on hire purchase. Hopefully, I will be able to pay off the loan within a year. After that, I will start making further plans."

"My main goal is to own a motorbike. I am currently employed as a motorcycle rider by one of the neighbors and with the income I get from the business, we have to divide with my employer. It had always been my dream to have my own motorcycle so that I fully fend for my family, but I had never been lucky to get enough money. I had been saving $30 of my monthly transfers towards achieving this goal and I believe that by mid-next year, I would be a proud owner of a motorbike courtesy of GibveDireclty. I would also want to venture into livestock rearing. and I would ensure that I spend $4 every month to buy at least one chick to add to the ones that I already have." "To me, I notice a shift within myself; the need to have money with me at all times so that I can buy food on a daily basis has subsided, and I am relieved. I would plunge into deep thoughts every day and perhaps lose it all if all of these challenges continued, and as a pastor of the community, we have been praying for aid, and I can confidently state that the Lord has answered us through GiveDirectly." "I work as a casual laborer at a construction site, which requires a lot of energy to carry around the heavy activities, and hunger was one of the reasons my day was disrupted after my employer saw me weak and feeble due to not eating well and decided to have me not work until I regained my strength. Immediately after I received the transfers, I went straight to the food store and purchased food worth $100 to last us a couple of days. I am also looking forward to raising goats, and the first thing I needed to do was find a place for them where they could sleep, so I purchased a $50 chain link fence for the area where I wanted the goats to sleep. Finally, I have a motorcycle, which I use to generate income whenever I do not have any work for the day. I have not serviced it for a while now, and this took $50 to be done. The future looks hopeful now that things are in place to make ends meet and make this place a better place to live, and I am pleased."

"The transfer that I received from GiveDirectly was of great help. I was previously doing the business of motorcycle riding in order to generate income for my family, but currently, I no longer operate in the business, getting money had been quite a nightmare a situation that forces me to look for odd jobs in the construction sites, but the situation had never been better and my wife on the other hand does also not have any income-generating activity. With the tough situation, 4 of my children were sent home to collect school fees since they still had some pending balances, but luckily GiveDirectly came to my rescue and with the transfers that I received, I managed to pay school fees worth $24 and bought food with the remaining amount of $10.70 and I was happy because my children got a chance to carry on with their studies."

"Currently, I work as a motorcycle rider, facing uncertain earnings of $5 on some days and returning home empty-handed on others. My aspiration is to own my own motorcycle, as the one I currently use is borrowed from a friend. To achieve this goal, I am determined to save diligently until I can purchase my own motorcycle. Additionally, I plan to capitalize on the growth of my chicken flock, selling them when they reach maturity, and using the proceeds to contribute towards acquiring the motorcycle. This dual effort of saving and leveraging the potential of my poultry will pave the way for me to attain the independence and stability that owning a motorcycle can provide."

I want my goats to procreate and multiply so I can sell and get money to educate my children. I have two children who soon will be going to school and I feel the need to be prepared for when they begin school. I also want to put up a grocery shop where I will sell vegetables and get an income as now we depend fully on my husband who is a motorcycle rider."
