Tito
received a $533 second payment.
"When I received my first transfer I bought building materials i.e iron sheets, nails, timber and poles and built a new house as I had one built out of iron sheets which is extremely cold or hot during rainy and sunny seasons respectively. The new house did not have windows and a secure door. I used the second transfer to buy steel doors and windows which I installed. Now my home is beautiful and secure from burglars. I also bought chicken mesh which I used in improving the security of the poultry from stray animals which kill them at night. This shall see the growth of my poultry into the selling stage hence increase in my income. I also paid a casual labourer to till my sugarcane farm which is the major source of income I solely depend on."

Eunice
received a $533 second payment.
"I used the transfer to buy building materials like iron sheets, nails, timber and steel door to build a new kitchen as I did not have one. We slept in one house with my kids and it was so small. The house was so much congested as we were keeping poultry in the house too. I built a two-roomed kitchen and a chicken pen where the children and the poultry now get to sleep separately and peacefully. It is also a farming season and my family depend largely on farm produce for consumption and income generation. I used part of the transfer to lease two more farms, buy hybrid maize seeds and hire a tractor to plough my farms ahead of the planting season. This means we will harvest more farm produce for sale and consumption hence increase in income for family upkeep. My child had an outstanding school fees balance and I was summoned by the teacher to clear it in time before they sent her home from school."

Masha
enrolled.
"To achieve a stable source of income and owning a rental house in Bamba has always been my dream. However, this has never come true because my casual job are not enough to meet our needs and save at the same time. With GD transfer I have the hope of achieving this in future and the only way is through quality investments. Therefore, the initial step in my journey is to start a livestock rearing project that will specialize in goats and chicken. This is because they multiply faster and are drought resistant enough to survive the harsh climatic condition in my area. Besides, I will start a small shop business in my area that will generate income to cater for food, clothing, medical and educational needs."

Sally
received a $23 twelfth payment.
"In the next four months, I want to be able to increase the number of chicken that I am rearing and build a poultry house to take good care of my them. These chicken will be of great help to me in meeting the basic household needs and making further investments like buying a goat or a cow for the family. Rearing of chicken has been of great importance to me considering that we are now able to meet most of the households basic needs with much ease unlike before when we struggle a lot to make ends meet as a family. Increasing the number of chicken reared shall empower us to have enough money at our disposal that can help us meet the daily needs of the family and make other family investments for the family."
