Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
In the next four months, I have an additional goal to construct a new house. With the monthly contribution to the Merry-go-round, I am planning to construct a new house for my children and used the remaining out of that contribution to buy goats.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life is the active funding of the merry-go-round I joined since I received the first transfer. We have been paying a monthly sum of 1000 KES with other 14 members and through it I have been able to pay school fees, bought a large water tank holding 3000 liters, and also ensures enough supply of foodstuff in my household. We are really thankful for what GiveDirectly did in our home.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
With the current savings plan we started in our household, we expect to start by buying at least five goats in the next six months. This will be the start of the other bigger projects we are planning to establish ahead. Among them is the house which we will be constructing a long side and we are hopefully that it will be complete before long.

Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
Having initially started a poultry project which failed due to the infection which struck and killed all the birds, I have a goal to reestablish it in the next four months. Currently, all I have to source is a good breed of chicks and ensure that the vaccination is in place to prevent the further effects of diseases which may bring another loss in the future.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
In the last four months, I have witnessed a lot of differences in my daily life, most of them are so impressive that I always wish that the officers who enrolled us into the program could come and see. Many structures have been put up in our household, most of which were not existing before the transfers but now they are looking good. Within a period of four months, the biggest difference in my daily life is the initiation to the completion of a poultry project. Although after bringing in the poultry they all died, I still never gave up but improved the structures which I had earlier on pit up for them. I currently have a complete modern chicken coop and have managed to fence all around my vegetable garden to protect my vegetables from the destructive chickens. This to me is a step ahead since reestablishing the poultry project again will not be hard since I have done a lot in the infrastructure.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
Although I have a lot of expectations, some seem to be far fetched. in the next six months, I have great hope that I will have accomplished the reestablishment of the poultry project and on the other side improved my farming since the two projects will soon be running simultaneously.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
My life is currently different from how it was four months ago in I no longer struggle so much doing the casual jobs the whole day but rather have time to work on my own farm. My children are no longer sent home to collect school fees like it used to happen before and this has led to an improvement in their performance.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
My new additional goal is that for the next four months is to build a spacious poultry house for my chicken. This project of poultry keeping is so awesome because it earns me an income through the sales of eggs at the shopping center near home.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer is that my children are no longer sent home to collect school fees and for other school items required like the textbook because I do pay fees on time. This has given me hope and peace of mind to continue working on my daily project and casual jobs that earn me an extra coin. Their performance has really improved because they spent most of their time in school studying. Before I could struggle so hard doing casual jobs in the village including picking tea but the payment was meager and it could not be enough to buy food for the family and other basic household items and at the same time gather for school fees. During those moments it was so demoralizing because my children could be sent home to collect school fees and because I had no money they could stay home for long and this was affecting their performance at that particular time. Currently, I'm so happy because they are in school and I'm so comfortable to run my daily activities at home without any worry of them being sent home.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I expect my life to change in the next six month in that I would have saved some money in the merry go round group that we have started in the village to enable me to buy a goat because this has always been my dream.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
Four months a go, we used to sell our tea to middlemen to enable us meet any arising needs for the family that could not let us wait until the end of the month to get that salary from the factory that we supply our tea to. This often left us making losses and not getting enough money at the end of the month to meet other family needs. With GiveDirectly transfers, we have been able to supply all our tea to the factory and this has led to increase in monthly income from the factory. We are also anticipating to receiving more bonuses from the tea sales at the end of the month. Constant supply of tea to the factory will as well guarantee us of getting free fertilizer for our tea plantation which will increase the production of tea in the days to come.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
In the next four months, I want to be able to increase the number of chicken that I am rearing and build a poultry house to take good care of my them. These chicken will be of great help to me in meeting the basic household needs and making further investments like buying a goat or a cow for the family. Rearing of chicken has been of great importance to me considering that we are now able to meet most of the households basic needs with much ease unlike before when we struggle a lot to make ends meet as a family. Increasing the number of chicken reared shall empower us to have enough money at our disposal that can help us meet the daily needs of the family and make other family investments for the family.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life in the last four months is that I can now borrow money from anyone and be trusted to pay back whenever I have a pressing need that I want to attend to. Four months a go I could not do most of the things that required huge sums of money since I could not get the money from anyone who knew me. It is easier for me to convince a friend to lend me some money at this time since they can be sure that I will pay them back at the end of the month when I get my transfers.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I look forward to having an established poultry unit in the next six months. I will also have more tea produced from my tea plantation and general increase in family's income. It is at this time that I can invest in other valuable assets such as goat keeping and dairy farming to help raise more income that can allow us educate our children and meet other family needs. Begging and over reliance on casual labour shall be a thing of the past for me.
