Julius
received a $23 sixteenth payment.
"Currently, I do poultry keeping project as an economic activity. The project has been fully funded by the monthly transfers that I receive from GiveDirectly and it has been improving each month. I now have a total of 50 chicken and I plan to add more in the remaining months. This has greatly improved my family's standards of living as we get to sell some eggs to meet other family needs which we wouldn't have managed without the money we get from the sale of eggs."

received a $23 sixteenth payment.
"The biggest difference in my life is that now I own a big poultry farm. I managed to start poultry farming with the monthly income I got from Give Directly. I used to save transfers every month because I had this project in mind. I am very proud to have thought this way because the farm is doing well. I usually sell a few chickens whenever I get a financial problem. They always come in handy in times of need."

Richard
received a $23 sixteenth payment.
"In the last four months, our hopes of seeing our son and daughter completing their secondary school were dying but that God GiveDirectly came to our rescue. We had exhausted all the resources we had since we had to sell all the goats, chicken and the only cow we had in our household for their school fees. Life was really hard for all of us since we had a lot of pressure both for paying school fees and maintaining the needs of our household. give directly came in at a time which we really needed assistance and pushed us through it. We are now glad that our children have completed their studies and we are only left to think of when their college would start. We are now relieved and ready for the next step since we have been saving every month from GiveDirectly with the goal of using in future when our children resume their studies."

Peter
received a $23 sixteenth payment.
"I have always been interested in poultry keeping. Currently, I have a few chickens which have been very helpful to me. I am planning to invest more in poultry farming. I have been saving the money I normally get Give Directly in order to expand my poultry farm. I know this business will help me earn more and get a reliable source of income through the sale of eggs. If all goes well I will quit doing casual jobs for good."

Irine
received a $23 sixteenth payment.
"I am planning to use my next few tranfers to buy livestock such as goats and chicken as an investment that I can later sell. I am currently taking a tailoring course which I will complete before the end of this year. My ultimate goal is to have my own tailoring shop and set up a business of my own, but I know it is quite costly to set up such business and that is why I want to invest my transfers in livestock so that whenever I am ready, I will sell them to get the money for the equipment required."

Vincent
received a $23 sixteenth payment.
"In four month's time, I am planning to begin poultry keeping. Since my wife always stays at home, this will be a perfect work she will be looking after as I get out. The work will be rolling when I receive next month's transfers since I will channel this towards purchasing materials for building poultry house before actually buying chicken. So very soon, I will supplement my income from the sale of eggs and chicken. It is also from this project that my family will get eggs for consumption hence improving their health."

"My additional plans over the next four months is to start a shoe selling business. I plan to do this with the savings that I have made from my potato farming business and selling the chicken that I have. I also intend to finance my project by selling some of the potatoes that are due for harvesting in the next few weeks. This, I expect shall be fulfilled in the next four months."
