"Receiving this money means better living standards for my family. I incur a lot of expenses in purchasing milk for consumption at a cost of KES50 a litre which is expensive. My spouse does motor cycle taxi to raise money for other house needs but the income is not consistent because it depends on many factors like availability of customers, fuel and competition. I am planning to use this transfers to purchase a dairy cow with KES 35,000. This will motivate me because it will supplement my income."

"Receiving this transfer means improved Nutritional status when I purchase a dairy cow. I am old and sickly, my immunity has gone down attributed to a lack of nutritious food due to food insecurity. It has been my ambition to purchase a dairy cow that will give me milk and sell the surplus to generate income. So when I receive this transfer I will spend KES 30000 to purchase it and I foresee that my health will improve since milk has good nutritional value."

"My livestock. I am a proud owner of 2 cows and 5 goats. These animals are more of rescuers to me. Whenever I have an emergency that requires money, I sell one of them and sort the problem out."

"My house does not have a door, I feel insecure being in that house. People steal for me when I am away, so I have to stay indoors to protect my property. Receiving this money I intend to buy a metallic door and fix it for my security. With the prolonged drought in my area most of my cows perished. I will buy five goats so that I can start rearing because I saw they can outstand during the drought season. With the remaining amount I will clear all the school fees balances for my five children and buy them new pairs of uniforms."

"After I received the transfers I decided to cater to matters concerning school fees for my children since they had already been kicked out of school and I had plead with the teachers to allow them back to class as I looked for money to pay what I owed. As soon as I received the transfers I went on to pay KES 1,000 splitting it between the three of them. I was left with KES 2,000 which I left in my savings account because I wanted to let the money accumulate so that I would eventually have enough to purchase some cows that I needed to help me plough my land during the rainy season. This is due to challenges we were facing in nutrition so I contemplated buying an ox as the way out."

"Receiving this money means a new start for my business of buying and selling traditional vegetables and milk. I have been doing this business for the last ten years and it has really helped me to earn an income and sustain the family's needs. I learned not to depend so much on my husband because he is polygamous and he has a huge responsibility to pay school fees for the children. I then took it upon myself to be the one providing food and clothing for the family. It has been my wish to be the one producing the vegetables and milk from my small farm but I have never had enough money to help me start. These transfers will therefore enable me to start producing the raw materials for my business which will ensure that I maximize on the profits. I will therefore use the transfers to buy seeds for the vegetables and also buy two cows for milk production. I hope with this I will be able to redefine my business and the profits that come from it."

"This is a big relief to me because my last born child just finished his college studies and it has been an uphill task to pay his school fees. I had already successfully paid school fee for his other 3 siblings. This made me sell all the cows I had in this compound and that's what we depend on to earn a living. The quality of life we are currently living has been affected so much because we have no livestock at all and it forces us to look for casual jobs in the village and it bothers me so much. Cultivation of crops is no longer fruitful because of emerging crop diseases and it has rendered the cultivation useless. We would like to spend this transfers therefore to restore a meaningful source of income through sale of milk. We will therefore use all the transfers to buy 3 grade cows and this will help us a great deal."

"I am so much passionate about farming and receiving this money will mean an expansion of this. I farm maize on one and a half-acre of land as my main source of income and sell them to business people around my area. The returns are good and expanding this to two and a half cares will mean that I will get better returns than before. I plan in venturing into dairy farming by buying a dairy cow with KES 40,000 from the transfers. This will provide milk for my children and also sell some of the milk."

"Receiving this money will mean that I will be able to finish constructing my house and clear arrears for my son in high school. I have not been able to balance the two and since my child has to study, I had to pause the construction to pay for school. This transfer will enable me to accomplish both and also allow me to buy a dairy cow so that it can be a source of income for my family."

"I am taking care of my young sister's goats as there is enough land in my village for the goats to graze and the rate at which they are multiplying is amazing. I would wish also to start keeping my goats. Receiving this money means spending 18,000 KES shillings to purchase six she-goats. I know by the end of this year they will have multiplied to 12 goats and I find it the best investment as goats can survive during drought compared to cows."
