"Receiving this money means building a better house for my family. Our current house is so small that it cannot accommodate all of us. This made me built a small chicken pen like structure to shelter my 2 boys. I share the single roomed house with my 3 daughters and whenever my husband comes home, my eldest daughter is forced to sleep in our neighbour's house. Besides this, the house is in a very poor state. Its walls are collapsing and the roof is leaking, making it unbearable during heavy down pour."

I will also use $150 to buy a dairy heifer that will be my source of income in future once it multipliers and produce milk for sale."

"I have been having the desire of owning a spacious house for my family of 6. Additionally, I had some projects which I started but came to an abrupt halt due to financial crisis. When I receive the transfer I intend to use 20,000 shillings to expand our house to three rooms. Also, I will use 20,000 shillings to boost my poultry commercial project by repairing the structure and adding more chicken. The remaining amount will be used to pay my children's school fees, buying food and clothing."

"My family of 8 has been living in this small one roomed hut since 2001. I have always wanted to build a three roomed iron roofed house that goes for $400 since then, but lack of finances has made it impossible. My children mostly spend their nights at their grand parents kitchen which inconveniences them walking at night. It is also shameful asking my neighbours to host my visitors at night whenever they come around. This money will therefore enable me to fulfill my all time wish. I will then spend $300 to buy a friesian dairy cow and $200 to build a poultry unit and buy chicken for rearing. Selling milk and eggs will earn me income to support my family needs, especially food and education for my children."

"I spent part of my second transfer on buying a dairy cow and chickens at KES 20500. I have been yearning to own them for a long but I could not afford it since they were very costly. Also, I bought some beddings which include a bed and a new mattress. This was to replace the old beddings that we have been using for all those years. I then cleared some hospital bills for my children who have been unwell for quite some time. The remaining amount of money, I bought sufficient foodstuffs for my family and some other household items."

I then bought some chicken as the living assets that I can lean on just in case of any financial difficulties. The remaining amount I am using it in buying enough foodstuffs for my family and some other household needs."
