"Since then, I've had little success looking for work. I've chosen to start farming, therefore I'm going to utilize the transfers to buy supplies that will cost me roughly $500. I will be able to get some money as a result, which I will spend for my basic needs. Additionally, I'll purchase a cow whose milk I'll sell in the shopping center. I would have to pay roughly $250 for the cow. I want to build a chicken farm with the money that would be left over. My primary source of income would come from all of these farming activities, so I would no longer need to look for employment."

"I intend to enroll in a driving school, which will cost me about $200. This would provide me the opportunity to apply for driving jobs and better take care of my family. Additionally, I would purchase a cow for roughly $250. As a result, my family will have availability of milk, and the cost buying milk of my son will go down since I spend about $1 dollar a day on milk. With the remaining funds, I intend to buy water pipes so that I can cultivate fruits, which need a lot of water because our terrain is dry and rarely gets rain."

"I am currently living alone. My wife lives with our children who lives in the Malindi sub-county. I am a farmer doing crop farming and rearing animals. It has been three years now without rain in our village. This caused drought and famine. I had ten cows and they all died due to a lack of water and grass. It happened last year 2022. I am now having a challenge of getting food. I rely on my children and neighbors for food. Food is the current challenge I am facing."

"Cows are synonymous with our culture and you can hardly find anybody without one. The fact that I do not have any makes me feel incomplete. Milk is also a good source of protein especially to young children. I have two children who are less than 5-years of age and I am forced to buy them 2liters of milk every day for $1. Sometimes it is hard to afford this because I depend on my salon business which is dependent on me getting a customer. I desire to buy a dairy cow worth $400 to solve my current challenges of buying milk every day."

Diana
received a second payment.
"When I received my second transfer, I used $90 to lease 2 acres of land and put it under agriculture. I then used another $60 to buy food for the family since we were facing a hard time with food as at that time. I also used a sum of $40 to buy clothes for my children and saved the remaining amount to be used to meet other needs of my family. We had always wanted to lease a piece of land and put it under agriculture but due to the little amount of money that we made, it was a little of a challenge to us to make this happen. I am so happy that we have not only been able to lease this land but also put it under agriculture and we are looking forward to making our first harvest soon. This transfer has changed my life and that of my family in a very grate way that I cannot thank them enough. Being a mother of five and relying almost entirely on odd casual jobs to meet the needs of my family, has been a great challenge to me. My husband who works as a driver has had on and off peak seasons in his work and this has made our lives very unpredictable. We are so grateful that this transfer may change our story for good. With the expanded farming and the dairy cow that we bought, then we are very optimistic that things will change for good for us. We will be able to pay school fees for our children in time, and meet all our family needs in time as well."

Sammy
received a $435 second payment.
"In the next one year and beyond I look forward to buying an additional dairy cow and start a poultry keeping project as well. Having bought the first dairy cow that is yet to calve, I am motivated to save up enough money from a voluntary job that I do and from the farm produce that I get. I have some experience in poultry keeping and I am so much determined to start this business and correct the wrongs that I did the first time I did the project. All these, I am optimistic shall be made possible within the next one year or so."

"I am a trained teacher still awaiting government placement. Though, at the moment, I depend on farming to earn a livelihood. I am a single mother of one. Upon receiving my transfer, I thought of buying a dairy cow worth $150, which would aid in reducing the cost of buying milk. I then settled a debt worth $50, which had accumulated for a while and also used $50 on farming. Lastly, I used the remaining cash to buy foodstuffs and clothes. I have accomplished so much in a short span, which I never thought that I would have accomplished. I am so grateful for the great opportunity that the organization gave us to uplift our lives."
