"I have been a motorcycle rider for 5 months now. Out of this casual job I earn an average of KES.300 per day after the deduction from of the fuel and other cost. My family of 6 fully depend on me and have two children who are joining form 1 come next year. I have been planning to plant short seasonal crops like tomatoes.Givedirectly transfers is an answered prayer to me and I am full of excitement for such a boost. With my small farm, I plan to spend KES. 70,000 to build a greenhouse, use the remaining amount to buy seedlings and pesticides to control the diseases that may arise. With this project, I see myself earning an average of up to KES10,000 per month depending on the yields. This will ultimately enhance my income and be able to pay for school fees and buy food."

"Having completed my newly built house with my first transfer, I was super excited that the dream I had always heard could be a reality. This would be a huge step for me which would not have been possible without the cash transfer. I am grateful that I was chosen to be a beneficiary of this project."

"With this recent money transfer of KES.6000, I was able to finish repairing my home which had so maybe repaired but was finally able to raise my home to be comfortable. I was also able to repair my source of income, a motorcycle which needed new there and engine spare parts that coated me KES.5000. I finally also bought two cows to provide milk and they totaled KES.18000. The remainder was used to finish repairing the house. This would not have been possible without Give directly."

"We currently live in a one roomed house which acts as the cooking, living and sleeping area. It is very small for my family of five and whenever we have visitors we cannot accomodate them . This forces us to borrow a sleeping space for them in my brothers house and it I am ashamed of it. Receiving this money means owning a better house which is spacious and also in a good condition. I am a motorcycle rider earning KES 350 per day from which I spend KES 200 to repay a loan that I took inorder to buy a motorbike and the remaining KES 150 goes into buying food. I plan on changing from a mud house to a two-roomed timber house using the transfers I will get from Givedirectly. This will cost me KES 30,000 for both materials and labor. The remaining money will see me spend KES 55,000 in clearing the debt am owed by a motorcycle dealer in the nearest town. This will boost my income and also my life will be better than it is now."

"Receiving this money means a stable source of income to my family of 4. For the past three years, I have had the plan to own a dairy cow. Currently, I spend KES 100 per day in purchasing milk for my children to drink and home consumption. I depend on income that I get from Motorcycle taxi. On a good day, I earn around KES 800 and spend KES 500 from this to repay the loan I used in purchasing it hence no savings at the end of the day. Upon receiving this transfers, I will use KES 40,000 to purchase a dairy cow. This will reduce the cost of buying milk and also generate income for me in the near future. I project on getting 6 litres of milk when it calves and from this I can earn an average of KES 180 per day making my life and that of my family better."

"In my life, the past six months have been of a great improvement, mainly because the government finally, paved the road passing through my farm. It has made easy to use motorcycle to go to hospital whenever my waist become a problem. Without this road, it would have been impossible for me to get medical help that I always require."
