"Giving us unrestricted cash transfers, in my opinion, was a terrific idea because it allowed people to address a variety of requirements. I have noticed a significant improvement in our village as a result of the unconditional cash transfer. While some people purchased cows, others made investments in businesses. The village is now better and more tranquil. On the other hand, everyone seems to be applauding the organization, therefore I have not heard of any concerns about it."

"What has brought me joy in the last 6 months is that, I got a cow that I am grazing for someone. I milk it and sell the milk to get some money to take care of my children in the absence of my husband. I get 2 litres of milk daily and sell it at $1. I am happy my children are healthy, and they rarely fall ill."

"Ever since I got enrolled into the program by the organization I have been using each part of the transfer I received to settle my debt that I had after I decided to buy a motorcycle. The previous owner of the motorcycle and I decided that I was going to pay the debt gradually in installments while I used the motorbike to transport people and goods to assist me earn some money and cater for my family. This time around, since I had already settled the debt I decided to invest into growing my farm by buying a sheep which cost me 3,000 which accumulated to me owning fifteen of them. My plan was that I keep buying sheep so that eventually I would have enough to sell then buy cows and then afterwards I could sell the cows and have enough money to buy bricks so that I could finally build a better home for my family of five. Afterwards I ended up spending the balance of KES 400 on fueling my motorcycle and also taking it for service."

"My long-term goals include more of investing on my farm where I can be able to make a living off it. I plan on buying a couple of farm animals which include goats and poultry as well. I would have definitely loved to be able to buy cows as well but unfortunately they are costly. I will also use the part of the transfers to ensure that I cater for my child's education as well. Apart from that, since my kids are also growing up I was thinking that I could use the finances to build another room so that they can have their own privacy."

"After successfully constructing my new house through previous transfers, I now plan to focus on acquiring livestock such as goats and cows. To start with, I aim to have bought at least six goats by year-end. I intend to use the cash transfers to buy these goes. This is because my business of selling palm wine cannot raise money to afford anything beyond food."

"I plan to have started livestock farming specifically goats by the end of this year. I am balancing paying school fees for my three primary school children and doing an investment. Since I am required to pay $28 per term and a term has three months. I will be spending one month's transfer for fees and the other transfers for the rest of the months on buying the goats. I chose goat farming over cows because of the climate condition in our area. Goats can survive in harsh conditions while cows cannot cope. Again goats have ready markets because they are cheap to acquire, so I will be able to convert them into monetary value when the need arises."

"Agriculture is the backbone of the country's economy and for one to live we have to eat. If only my farm was fenced, then food provision for my family of 4 would not be a challenge. When I receive the transfers, I intend to purchase a chain link wire to fence my garden which I will then sow millet, sorghum and grass for my cow. From the produce, I will sell some to earn income and store the rest to provide food for my family when drought hits my area. I will be glad to take a rest from fetching firewood as I will have an alternative source of income."
