"I work hard to make sure that I provide for my family and among my challenging roles was paying school fees for my children. When I received my first transfer, I spent part of it to pay school fees for my daughter so as to avoid her being sent back home. Buying milk has always been my daily routine and it is costly. Buying a dairy cow became my second priority after paying school fees for my daughter. I am now glad since I believe that I will stop buying milk very soon. I used the remaining amount to buy two goats for rearing, two sacks of maize flour, clothes and beddings for my family. I am now glad since we sleep soundly because we have enough beddings. I currently live a stress-free life since I have settled my daughter's fees and also, I have acquired family assets that have great value in my family."

"Four months ago I was using the chimney lamp for lighting at my house. It produced a lot of soot that was unhealthy for my household members. My children complained of difficulty in reading using the lamps. As we speak, I have a solar panel system that lights my house so well and I am so glad GD came into my life. Besides that, paying school fees has been a headache but not is walk in the park. So long as you keep up the good work."

"I did use part of my transfer on farming, by hiring people and buying fertilizer hence got bumper last season, we have plenty of food. I do not expect much change in the next six months because I still have school fees to pay. I have several school-going children and it would be difficult to start a new project at the moment. Although I am planning to save the little money I get from casual jobs and start an income-generating activity."

"School fees have been my major burden in my life. I have always depended on a small income from a small foodstuff business which has not been doing quite well. This is because it has been my main source of income and the whole family needs rely on it. I have always failed to pay fees arrears and in most cases, my children are always being sent home for the same. When I received the transfers and cleared their balance, I felt proud as a mother because I know I have fulfilled that part well and it's because of the transfers I received from GD>"

"I spent part of my first transfer on buying a pair of oxen. I decided to buy them because It will save me a lot, especially in my farming activities. Apart from that I also bought some building materials such as cement for constructing a pit latrine. Initially, we used to help ourselves in the bushes which were really unhealthy and embarrassing. It was really affecting us because we were always suffering from cholera and typhoid and I used to spend a lot in paying medical bills. For now, I am able to save because some of these expenses have been reduced. I cleared school fees for my children and used the remaining amount of money to buy foodstuffs for my family."

"The biggest difference in my daily life is that I am now able to support my spouse in meeting our daily needs. We have divided some of our household expenses, for instance, I use my transfers to buy food while my husband concentrates on paying school fees for our children. This has also enabled him to start doing some projects since he can at least save some amount. I no longer feel like a burden, I feel worthy and of great importance, because I can now chip in and even be consulted before decisions concerning my family are made."

"My dream of landing a job in the government sector as a procurement officer was shuttered two years ago when i was in my second year in the university due to lack of school fees. I had to come back home to seek for any available employment opportunity in order to raise school fees but due to lack of employment, i haven't been able to actualize my goals which is so disheartening now that the colleagues i studied with will be graduating at the end of this year. This has been the biggest harsdship i have faced in life"
