"I have always yearned for my own land as I currently live in a grass thatched house that I inherited from my grandmother. I have 2 children and would wish to secure a future for them. This is not possible at the moment for the land I live in belongs to my grandmother. When I receive this money, I intend to use KES 60000 to purchase 0.2 acres of land. I will use the rest of the transfers to build a grass thatched house and to start a maize business."

"I will use half of the money to build my house and the remaining half will be used to start a business. My house is currently spoiled and needs renovation. I had to move in one of my friend who passed away house in the meantime. The first half of the money will be used to pay workers to mold bricks, buy sticks and zinc for the roofing. Secondly, I will use the remaining amount to start a business that will help me to be able to feed my son and myself."

"The main challengeI am facing now is my wife health. Since five years she has been sick and no finance to take her to good hospital. Her foot business is really troubling me because she is not able to do anything now so I have to do everything, could you imagine cooking which is woman's responsibility in our setting is a part of my responsibility now as a man. Since she got sick, people in the community have kept far from us, they don't enter our house now and when they feel good to greet us, they stand a different because her foot sometimes smell."

""What I plan to do with my cash transfer is to build my own house on my husband family's land within this same town, I've been renting for long time, I and my husband's hustles can only earn little, when we brush the spot we burn the sticks and make charcoal/fire coal, then we plant crops, so the little money we get from the crops harvest and that of the coal sales aren't enough to build house, but can only help sustain the family. Another thing I have on mind is to do fish business which will help sustain the family and help support my children in school.""
