"The first thing we are planning is to buy a cow so that we can get manure to use in our land in order to become productive. The cow will cost $200. The second thing is to renew our house from the roof and walls. The reason of renewing is that we are in old age as you can see and we wish to get old living in clean house. Those activities will cost $300. We will also buy one goat for $30 and this will give birth to other many so that in the future we will have to sell them and get the money to pay for health insurance. The rest of the money will cover other needs like buying food, clothes and other household items."

"The first thing I'm planning to do is to put roof on my house and kitchen because when it rains, the rain go through and reach inside and that will cost $100. The other thing is that I will buy a cow which will cost $250, because in our agriculture activities when you don't use manure the production is low, therefore the cow will provide manure to be used. I will buy also 2 goats in the aim of saving money because in the future when I will be short of money, I will have to sell the goat. Those goats will cost $60. I will buy a piece of land which is fertile located in good place for $200. The reason of buying that land is that the ones in which I grow my crops are not productive."

"I am a small-scale dairy farmer owning one dairy cow. I desired to boost my farming by purchasing one Ayrshire cow to improve my milk production. Currently, I produce 8 litres per day which earns me approximately $3.5. After receiving the recent transfer, I spent $400 on buying one more dairy cow. I am hoping it would have given birth in the coming 4 months. I am optimistic that I will be able to get $4 per day more once it reproduces. This income would be enough to support our 3 kids' education as well as feed our family of 5 members. Furthermore, I used $100 to pay off the fee balances for our 3 children who are in a private school."

I will also use $678.45 to buy a cow for my self for milk production for both sell and consumption ,and sustainability of life since I am sickly I always desire to take milk but it has always been so hard to have it due to lack of money. I pray that God will bless the funders of this program for being able to reach us the vulnerable in a very hot to reach area here in Shijera Village in Bumwalukani District."

"When I withdrew the money, the priority was a house since the one I had was old and full of cracks thus unsafe to dwell in. Therefore, I bought 14 pieces of iron sheets for $126, poles for $60, and rafters for $20. I constructed the perimeter of the house by myself. Since I am not an expert in roofing, I paid someone $50 to fix the roof for me. Currently, the house is almost complete and I am very happy about it. Once my eyes land on the house I see GiveDirectly. I am very grateful for that. Thereafter, I opted to buy a cow that cost me $180. The reason for buying the cow is for milk purposes. Buying some milk for my family has been very expensive and I thought it would be prudent to buy a cow that will serve my family. I also gave my son $120 to boost his marriage appreciation since he wanted to pay the dowry for his wife. As of now, he is very happy that he managed and he is living with his wife."

"Since my sardine business was collapsing yet it was my only source of income, I gave it priority. When I withdrew the money, I opted to invest more into it by adding enough stock. I used $120 in restocking the business. I did this to ensure that I get enough income from the business because I sell to retailers. After that, I bought three goats for $120. I chose goats over a cow because they have a faster birthrate compared to cows. The goats will serve as an investment too. After all, as they will be increasing I will be in a position to convert them into monetary value because they have ready markets. To appreciate my grandchild who is also my helper, I opted to assist him in the construction of a house. I boosted him with 10 iron sheets which cost $80 to complete the roofing of his house. This act gave me peace of heart after seeing how happy the boy was. For the remaining amount, I decided to buy some food for $20 and saved the rest for the family's upkeep. As of now, I am very happy to see my business progressing well knowing that I have a stable source of income."

"I spent the second transfer of $550 on plastering my wife's house which was so much in bad condition. Bought a dairy cow, which I had longed for a while, at least my family will be able to drink milk to improve their health, and sell some to my neighbors to get money to pay their school fees and carter for their basic needs. Even though there is drought and little milk is produced, I am hoping for the best by the end of the day and even much to come in the future. I am a cattle keeper and a farmer and so is my wife. Thank you so much GiveDirectly for the support."
